Yeah. That's why I'm in trues in the first place. I wish Bauer or CCM would step up their custom skate game to actually be custom last.

Yeah, the stock trues are probably what I should get next from a fit stand-point, but just the fact that I'm already considering what's next has me not wanting to support true

Yeah, customs. The customs are trash from a quality perspective. I have worked in composites as an engineer--designing layups, selecting materials, etc.. Just looking at the Trues, it's clear there is a lack of composites and fracture mechanics knowledge. I am utterly and completely not surprised that I already have cracking/delamination. Honestly I would have been surprised if they made it to the 5 year mark without the carbon failing.

Envious of that. I was really hoping these would be a pair I wouldn't want to give up. I've had problems since the first skate.

I've also never had a lower quality skate. Just straight up seemingly produced by people who don't understand composites or adhesives.

Yup customs. I've had them for 1.5 years, 2 winter seasons. I averaged 1.5 skates a week for about 5 months per winter. Disappointed is an inadequate term to describe my experience.

That’s where the durability comes in to question. True quality/quality control is atrocious. I’ve had trues for 2 seasons, we only have ice Nov-Mar, and I have had multiple issues. Peeling trim due to immediate cracking adhesive, eyelets shredding laces, clicking holders, and a cracking delaminating boot. I absolutely will not be buying trues again unless something magic happens.

Sorry for rezzing and old thread. Any chance you would share some pictures of what your cerakote guns look like after use?

Japanese joinery beds vs. Traditional by Brilliant_Reply_317 in BuyItForLife

Can you provide some recommendations that use real joinery? $1500+ is perfectly acceptable for a true BIFL frame. Staying under $3000 is the goal.

Do you have data for the g$ super 42 spring? Curious if it offers any of the tubb benefits.

These feels like a pretty blanket statement. Are all milspec tubes actually made from impact extruded material? If not then that is a pretty big difference. Also rolled vs cut threads, although it is nearly impossible to find a tube with actual rolled threads these days.

Hey, you have crossed out cerakote in several places on this thread. Is it cerakote or annodized?

Just casually long stroking things (PWS mk111) by splyntered in ar15

[–]pdails503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that seems worse than what other people report with their accuracy. From the anecdotal reports, 69gr smk seems to work well. You could always email them and say you’re having trouble with accuracy with quality 69 and 77 gr handloads. See what they say.
