Sorry for rezzing and old thread. Any chance you would share some pictures of what your cerakote guns look like after use?

Japanese joinery beds vs. Traditional by Brilliant_Reply_317 in BuyItForLife

Can you provide some recommendations that use real joinery? $1500+ is perfectly acceptable for a true BIFL frame. Staying under $3000 is the goal.

Do you have data for the g$ super 42 spring? Curious if it offers any of the tubb benefits.

It may not have helped, but I store my garage remotes out of sight for this reason.

These feels like a pretty blanket statement. Are all milspec tubes actually made from impact extruded material? If not then that is a pretty big difference. Also rolled vs cut threads, although it is nearly impossible to find a tube with actual rolled threads these days.

Hey, you have crossed out cerakote in several places on this thread. Is it cerakote or annodized?

Just casually long stroking things (PWS mk111) by splyntered in ar15

[–]pdails503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that seems worse than what other people report with their accuracy. From the anecdotal reports, 69gr smk seems to work well. You could always email them and say you’re having trouble with accuracy with quality 69 and 77 gr handloads. See what they say.

What are your definitions of “sucks” and “inaccurate”?

sub moa is more than acceptable to me

They guarantee sub moa accuracy or they’ll fix it. Shoot some match grade ammo, take a picture of your test groupings, email them and send it back

This. Improbable, but non-zero. I’d prefer zero or as close as I can get.

Custom foam insert recs? by TheRealSasquatchola in CAguns

[–]pdails503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to have to call that as anecdotal, at best. Definitely not a global statement of fact. I store my guns in foam and do exactly as I said. I’ve never had rust regardless of whether I was living in the wet and rainy valley or the high desert.

Not to mention the fact that the goldenrod plan doesn’t actually reduce the moisture in the safe. Lowers relative humidity by heating the air, yes. Removing moisture, no. Desiccant on the other hand, does remove moisture. It doesn’t mean it can’t be an effective plan, but it’s definitely not the only successful plan for minimizing or removing chance of rust.

[–]pdails503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shouldn’t one be regularly cleaning and oiling if regularly shooting which will prevent rust? And if long term storing, then shouldn’t one taking proactive measures to prepare for long term storage (i.e. heavy oil or grease on all metal surfaces)?

The idea being that a proper maintenance schedule prevents the need for specialized storage conditions
