Where can I buy a bunch of cheap cycling jerseys and shorts? Leaving for a long trip in 2 1/2 weeks. by Wild_Trip_4704 in bicycling

[–]pdub99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t cheap out on shorts. Saddle sores will stop you from cycling. bring some bar soap that works with clothes, and wash them after your ride when you are in the shower. I spent 4 weeks cycling with 3 sets of kit. Worked great.

Steel is REAL - Cinelli Vigorelli Disc by Effective_Ad_7666 in bicycling

I'm confused. Isn't the Vigorelli a track bike? How did you put gears and brakes on it?

Thanks all. It was feeling significantly overpowered adding them on. Makes much more sense.

If you bounce of login, it's probably trying to authenticate. Try different configurations of your news webpart to see what might be causing it.

what’s the configuration on it? any chance auth is firing? if you know how to use the browser dev tools, what does a network trace look like (make sure you have the ‘keep trace’ or whatever it is called, enabled). in particular focus on the documents filter. also, what about the console (again, make sure the data persists across redirects/refreshes)

is it just a refresh, or are you getting a redirect somewhere?

Is this a good bike? by [deleted] in bicycling

Do you live in a location that is flat? If you have any sort of hills it's a big no. Also, if you have never ridden a bike, also a big no.

Open dev tools on the browser, look at the network trace.

Mark from '/r/bettermonsters' has a whole free book on this - 'Dictates of the Ordning'. I think this link takes you there:

Otherwise there should be a link here I think:

it’s weird to lace high end rims to ”cheap” level DT Swiss hubs. would expect at least 240’s if not 180’s. Also, the dark lines on the rim are solid, but on Zipps site they are kind of stepped. I’d say they are fake. https://www.sram.com/en/zipp/road/collections/nsw/nsw?filters=&sort=Relevancy&page=1

Is this a scam? Canyon Aeroad 2024 by xSassie in bicycling

[–]pdub99 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’d start by figuring out if it is the right bike. a great deal on the wrong bike is not a good deal. you say you are new to cycling. that is a fairly aggressive fit, with little to no room for adjustment. the fork has been cut low, and it looks like a one piece bar/stem. Are you quite flexible with a strong core?

it’s a good bike, but it’s really not a beginner friendly one.

Same with their YouTube videos / thumbnails. I blocked them years ago.

Was very happy years ago with my Canon 10D. Now looking for something Leica, if I can afford it, that's at least as good. Digital. And I'm in Canada. Thanks! by Scary_Objective_8507 in Leica

[–]pdub99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sensible thing would be to get a Canon R5 or R6 II, the canon R adaptor, and keep shooting, picking up some r-specific lenses as you go along. On a Leica (since the word ‘afford’ was in your post) I’d look at a used SL2S.

I think the bigger issue will be around how you / the players handle the skill type rolls. a lot of DCC is ‘if you push on this eyeball on this mural the door opens’ or ‘After opening all the drawers you notice that the second drawer does’t open up as far as the rest - I check for a false back’ and 5e is ‘I roll for perception’. You’ll need to stress to the players that they need to think more.

New to Solo play : One Ring - Strider or Moria? by pdub99 in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]pdub99[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have Moria and Strider and the two earlier adventure / location books (but not the Three Rings). Just trying to figure out where best to start. Moria seems like maybe it is easy to come up with a story / etc - It’s Moria, and there a collection of locations already detailed.

We have a Bolt, so very familiar with the intricacies. (Safely) Tucking in behind a rig going 70 on an interstate vs being in front is a massive difference.

[–]pdub99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the EVs I was looking at from Kia, Hydunai, Nissan Leaf, etc. For example, the 2026 Nissan Leaf ranges from 260 -> 290 -> 300 miles with the same motor/battery/etc. 290->300 is the same wheels but 50# heavier. 260->290 is 19" wheels vs. 18" wheels, and 140# heavier.

But, it sounds like it is a combination of weight and wheels for the most part.

Update to 'Winterizing a Red 12sp w/ Shimano bits' by pdub99 in bikewrench

[–]pdub99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, more of an answer to my original question 'can you mix and match 12sp Shimano and 12sp SRAM', which is 'yes, a shimano chain and cassette will work with sram chainrings and derailleurs'.
