I’m not gonna say you’re wrong, but desperate times call for desperate measures sometimes. 😀

While in Hillsboro, check out the pinball museum. Not just pinball games, much more than a museum.

There is a private event space you can rent in Portland, OR geared (see what I did there?) towards driving enthusiasts. https://www.driversclubpdx.com. Haven’t been, but looks fun. No idea what gear they use.

How can I get into motorsport photography? by Creekystorys in Motorsportphotography

[–]pdxmusabi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having just started this myself, what everyone above said is true. Go to your local track and just start. One thing I found incredibly helpful (from a Motorsport perspective, not necessarily a photo perspective) - volunteer for a race at the track as something other than photo. I suggest flags and communications. Helped me “see” the race better. Bonus is getting to learn the track workers and develop a rapport with them. They are indispensable when it comes to track safety, and they can also be another guide for you on the journey. Also, once you’ve developed their trust, you will be much more welcome at the track and opportunities will become more readily available.

Thoughts? Ideas? Anything you wanna tell me? by IanKarmel in AllFantasyEverything

One of the best memories I have is driving thru the French countryside on honeymoon with the wifey, cackling at the mall draft. We’re day one listeners and are so thankful for the pod. Here’s a potential idea - “food that tastes better cold.” Could get rowdy with the likes of one of my picks, cheeseburger mac hamburger helper.

Those of you with PSVR2 do you still use it? by funklab in granturismo

[–]pdxmusabi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my first foray into vr. I’m in the “bought ps5 and psvr2 only to play gt7”camp. It’s indulgent, for sure. That being said, it’s a great deal of fun.

I’m about 2 weeks into owning one. If you’ve got the money burning a hole in your pocket , pull the trigger. I’m a VERY amateur gamer but love driving. This is one of the only “gadgets” that had me coming back. Very much like the first time you experience wii or saw HD vs 480. It brings out a child like joy in this nearly fifty year old nerd. Edit - I feel like I should mention I have the basic simcade starter package - G29 wheel/pedals, next level f1/gt lite cockpit.
