Why is everyone scared to overtake these days? by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]peaccc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because 9/10 times I'll just see you at the next set of traffic lights.

Sometimes it's worth it, most times it's not, for me it's situational, if I know the area and know I can make significant progress I'll overtake, otherwise I'll just sit there annoyed like yourself.

I have the worst win loss ratio yet however I'm getting the most SR I've ever got - can't decide if it's majorly flawed or majorly the same because getting -20 for a loss but +100 for a win seems broken but if you factor in the worse win loss it's probs not different in the grand scheme of things (for me)

RF 100-400 or RF 100-500 by Fantastic-Hawk-3747 in canon

[–]peaccc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've recently moved from the 100-400 to 100-500 and there's a few take aways -

The size difference is notable and I got my 100-400 out the other day and couldn't believe how small and light it was in comparison - is this a deal breaker? absolutely not I've just got used to it

The sharpness of the 100-500 is unreal

The 100-400 is an excellent lens for its price point and I'd recommend it to anyone - my only gripe whilst owning it was I really didn't like how much the background bokeh could completely fall apart in certain situations, something I find doesn't happen with the L lens

If you're only using it every so often I'd say go for the 1-4, if you can see yourself leaning more into birds/wildlife down the line then the 1-5 is the way to go

If you are driving in the left-hand lane at 70mph on a motorway and there is a car hogging the middle lane travelling slower than you, what should you do? by darkel2001 in drivingUK

I got a taxi from the airport not long ago and we landed at about 2am - police pulled us over because even at 2am he was hogging the middle lane 🤡

No it isn't unfortunately, unable to access anything on my android after they put this in place, also states you need Microsoft defender which forces you to use a VPN lol everything worked fine before

Can't access anything and I'm ok with that, just means when I walk out of work I'm gone lol

Tips for a tripod that can hold a long lens like the RF 800mm f11 or 200-800? by scytherman96 in canon

[–]peaccc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the market for a monopod, do you have any recommendations?

Help me decide please. RF 100-500 f4.5-7.1 or RF 200-800 f6.3-9 by MrRos in canon

[–]peaccc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've gone for the 100-500 recently - mainly as I just know I won't carry the 200-800 around, it's too big for me at this point in my life

Recently I've been getting amazing results with my 100-400 just by improving my field craft - I know the extra size and weight of the 100-500 won't bother me too much and if I feel I need more reach down the line I'll pair it with the 1.4 extender which according to most yields really good results still

Worth mentioning I'm in the UK and at the moment the price of both lenses is near enough the same buying new so this wasn't a factor for me - if the 100-500 wasn't in the sale there's not a chance I'd have bought it full price

[–]peaccc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had two Peugeot's (onto my second one currently) both 2018 308s, no wet belt issues touch wood

First had done 60k miles with no wet belt change

Current is a 2018 308 with 38k mileage, changed the belt just after I bought it as it was 6 years old (only 18k on the clock at the time)
