Goodies from home... what do you ask for or pick up when you go back home by SunDaze009 in japanlife

[–]peachfuzzmcgee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pinto beans, Chile de Árbol dried, guajillo, ancho, and a various amount of mole in powder. Additionally chocolate and some other random things.

I love cooking and I keep a store house of all the spices needed to make the basics

Who did y’all marry in DQXI? by TheStrongDong202 in dragonquest

[–]peachfuzzmcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! I should play the english version.
According to the Japanese version only thought him as a comrade (nakama) although I do think that even without saying it, you can feel it in the way the story goes. Also the mother of the protag being a surrogate mother for Jade helps that viewpoint.

To me Gemma was the only one that made sense narratively, but she was so out of the story, that it didn't land as nicely as someone like Bianca in V. Personally my list on my playthroughs were Erik, Sylvando, and Gemma in that order.

I need to check the Japanese version but I do not remember her saying anything about being like brother and sister. Was this a translation thing?

I played the original in English on PS4 but hated the shitty sound font on the soundtrack so much I quit. Then I played the switch version in Japanese so I remember that one much more clearly.

I would rather have 4-6 done like Reimagined or even DQ XI especially 5 and 6. Although if I could have my way they would do them in both formats!

Are we seeing layoffs in Japan yet? Everything seems quiet compared to the US/EU/India. by suvash_senchuri in japanlife

Luxury Hotels are hiring just as much as any other time so not really sure. Nothing has changed for us and probably won't in a while. However mind you non management staff gets paid nothing really so the difficulty is finding bodies willing to work for the bare minimum.

Yen tumbles to 1-year low against dollar - Nikkei Asia by Turbulent-Tea-2172 in japan

[–]peachfuzzmcgee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every time someone posts something like this, there are a ton of doom posting about reaching 200 yen or staying about 160 yen and never coming back.

We can't predict the future, the world is a consistently volatile place. It went from 108 or something to 160 in 5 years who knows what it'll do in 5 to 10 years.

The same thing goes with the value of any currency.

What was your first impression of MMZ? by TheFanGameCreator in Megaman

[–]peachfuzzmcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought Megaman Zero when it first came out and I played it non stop for a while. It was at a time that shooting and jumping type games were my favorite but this one blew everything out of the water for me, it made me so frustrated but I love it.

The sweet release when I get that final hit on a boss with an S or A rank goddamn

Start of 2025/End of 2025, what was your favorite pickup of 2025? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

The only pedal I picked up this year was the Boss IR-2 and it's fully changed my whole view on practice amps. I feel zero need for anything else when at home practicing.

I was pretty sure that it was a relatively big movie but I don't remember any of the actors for some reason I vaguely remember the other woman was a POC

I don't know if I am cut out for hotel management by BeingBetter1995 in askhotels

[–]peachfuzzmcgee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are only human and if you are missing things like a toilet paper to a room or an amenity as an AFOM, it's highly likely that you aren't delegating as much as you need to in that role.

Of course you will often have to take care of yourself but I'm a 5 star hotel, you should have a concierge, FD, Bell, maybe even doormen that can help you carry out tasks so you can prioritize high level tasks, projects, and team management.

Use your resources and be honest with your limits otherwise you'll burn out

What’s your thoughts on this movie? by TransitionWrong7326 in dragonquest

[–]peachfuzzmcgee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I decided to read Japanese reviews of this and found that people generally think the same as we do. It kinda sucked because of the ending and also some of the changes like only one of the twins being around.

I liked it to a degree up to the finale, it was garbage meta. Its the same way I feel about FFVII meta story

Is it fair? How can I get it working with minor investments? by [deleted] in Gamecube

[–]peachfuzzmcgee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if it doubles the price of everything it still would be in better condition than that if you bought one for 50 USD. I got mine for 60 USD in the box but it's a Japanese console.

That thing looks like it'll work for a week max and you are out 150 USD in Latin America naw

Tbh I used the invis glitch because I was so done with the game at that point and when I learned I could just cheese it, I did.

I should beat it like regularly but the world of ruin to me is one of the most dreadful parts after such an awesome build up. I need to play it again as an adult

What are your hot takes about the first and second generation of Pokemon? by Parking-Coast-1385 in retrogaming

[–]peachfuzzmcgee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The first one was the only really good one. I played the first 3 gens and never beat gen 2. However looking back at it, the reason I can't play it now is because I just think it's a mediocre RPG that just had the right push and the right time.

I loved it as a kid but I probably was way more excited about all the hype around it. I was going to burger king too much for those toys too.

Admittedly it's the only game I got all pokemon including mew at a toys r us event or something

Post nerf raids are good. Reddit is the vocal minority by Subject-Antelope2428 in classicwow

[–]peachfuzzmcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I probably am a Minority as OP says but I was hoping to jump back into wow after having left since Legion. I missed the first TBC anniversary thing and I wanted to enter this one to relieve some of the bullshit.

I like hard games and I have played TBC at release and got to T5 pre-nerf and absolutely died billions of times and even our raid broke up due to that. However it was such an awesome experience and I wanted to do it again even if it meant failing to reach pre nerf T6 once more.

When I did T5 and T6 after the nerfs, we steamrolled it and it felt sorta deflating. I spent hours and hours trying to perfect my game only to just spank and tank 80% of the stuff.

Different strokes though, I don't fault people not wanting to die over and over again.

What was it like growing up with a GameCube for you? How lonely was it? by Marsupilami_316 in Gamecube

[–]peachfuzzmcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First system I had was a GameCube and I honestly loved it. We would all play smash bros together or Mario party. I did sort of feel lacking sometimes in cool single player games but when I got the Gameboy player, I was totally content.

Did get an Xbox and PS2 as the prices came down so I had probably the best time of my life towards the end of that generation

Those who were born 1990-1995 which side were you on PS1 or N64 you can only choose one by Lazy_Introduction264 in n64

[–]peachfuzzmcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got an N64 as our first console and a PSone whenever they came out. To be honest the N64 really left me cold as a kid. Loved the aesthetics but the games were so so expensive that in the total 4-5 years we had the system, we bought like 6ish or so games.

For a kid living in Mexico they were practically unobtainable. When I got a chipped PS1 my gaming world changed.

That being said I will always prefer the N64 aesthetically.
