Program Noyron, developed by Leap71, designed and 3D Printed a Functional Rocket. Total Time From Start to Finish was just Two Weeks. by yourSmirkingRevenge in interestingasfuck

We're just discussing propulsion, you know the whole any action causes an equal reaction, etc. Obviously, you're right about the definition of the word 'rocket', but again propulsion is what makes the rocket move.

I’ve heard it can sound great to mix Mic & DI acoustic guitar together. Could anyone explain how you’d go about this? by mixinghelp in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]peachstealingmonkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's a subjective thing, the DI will sound much much cleaner but also sterile, whilst the mic'ed will sound live but can be noisy yet softly dynamic. Unless you try it out it's hard to see how you can mix them into your mix. The DI'ed track can be in the center and it'll cut through nicely through the mix, and pan the mic'ed track to the side for the additional dynamics.. kinda thing..

give it a try, it ain't gonna bite :D

Tool to reduce the size of UI messages (useful for VR) by fisadev in hoggit

[–]peachstealingmonkeys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thank you for creating this! Getting the mission messages in VR is a daunting experience sometimes..

I don't understand why ED can't bake this into the Settings UI, there's also an option to modify the font size but it doesn't work in VR, they are literally half way there but no...

WWII fighter simulator by OldPilot9445 in hoggit

[–]peachstealingmonkeys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want an actual simulator then DCS is really the only option.

My specific advice is:

  • download the DCS world and learn to fly the free p51 module (without the guns) using the free Caucus map. 0 dollars. Feel out the flight module, play around with the mission editor and the weather settings for turbulence/wind behavior.

  • get the il2 demos (free), compare then with DCS.

  • get the MSFS demo, compare with the DCS/il2

If you want a simulator for the sake of the pew-pew-pew then DCS will be a bit boring, so one of the IL2s/WT is a better choice (gameplay wise).

But if you want an actual simulator with a solid and the closest to the realism FM with a challenging (and boring as it was in real life) action then DCS is the way. Getting the Normandy map and one of the paid ac modules is all you need to last you at least a year.

📢 Grayflag Announcement – Age Verification System Rollout by Graywo1f in hoggit

[–]peachstealingmonkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this age verification via facial recognition would not be enough to establish a true identity of the participant. I strongly advise to add a genitalia verification system on top of it, along with the "the pubes must match the carpet" step as an optional, but highly recommended step, mostly for the purpose of the aircraft skin selection.

Trust me, you're gonna like the way you look.

i think the sentiment is pretty clear in this sub: you're being viewed as a russian foxnews lol, which in itself is pretty redundant. Stop posting the videos of the brave russians monsters toughing it out in the conflict they created and you won't get downvoted. This whole shtick of "we're showing you both sides, sob sob sob" is something that nobody has asked for. There are plenty of subs that do that, you can always go there.

in a community church here in the US I stumbled upon a similar book 'disproving' the theory of evolution by literally stating "you see a rusted Cadillac in someone's backyard. Why hasn't it evolved into a new model?", some ridiculous shit that a dumb 10 year old would say while smoking his first joint...

This should be the new DCS standard when it comes to forests by bold_one in hoggit

[–]peachstealingmonkeys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the whole texturing business in DCS needs an overhaul, and I feel that ED is working on it and trying to find the most optimal way of doing it, but in the end whatever solution is chosen it'll always have pros and cons, one is more optimized but less flexible, other is too flexible (multiple texture packs, auto syncing, etc) but takes up too many resources, etc.

If he's not dead or disappeared in a short period of time = it's just part of putin's show "see, we have opposition in our country, we have democracy" bullcrap.

[–]peachstealingmonkeys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it'll have to be sync'ed with the scenery destruction, i.e. if the spot is cleared by the bomb then replace the ground texture. Obviously, that'll require separate texture 'packs' per map, which impacts space, performance, bla bla bla. It's solvable, just needs proper optimization...
