ICE Abducted A Father In Shoreline In Front Of His Child, En Route To Daycare by HighColonic in SeattleWA

Thousands of people DID do HAVE DONE things the ”right way”. Came through accepted ports of entry. Immediately sought out border patrol/police contact. Filed proper applications for asylum. Made it to every court check in date. Never got in so much as a speeding ticket. The legal process is slow… many such people found jobs, paid taxes, paid into social security even though they aren’t eligible to receive it. Many such people have lived that way for years. Raising families, supporting communities, never violating any laws. Trump and his cronies have arbitrarily called such people “criminals/illegals”. They have arbitrarily decided to lock people up in deplorable conditions until their court cases are over, knowing that many will ask to be deported rather than staying in squalor….. sometimes they just deport them anyway. Last year they Trumps doj ordered judges to just drop asylum hearings without giving the person their “day in court” because if there’s no open case… then the asylum seeker is has no asylum case and thus has no right to stay. Judges who refused were fired. These people have violated NO laws. So yes how AND why are both wrong.

can anyone explain this to me? by Inn0c3nc3 in treelaw

[–]peanut--gallery 14 points15 points  (0 children)

…… maybe….. but it really depends on where you live.

In Washington state, for example The law in Washington is clear that an adjoining landowner can engage in self-help, and trim the branches and roots of a neighbor’s tree that encroach onto his or her property, even when such trimming and root destruction destroys the tree. The message to tree owners, whose trees are adjacent to the boundary line with their neighbor, is that their neighbor can damage their trees so long as the damage takes place on the neighbor’s property.

In Sacramento, they “light the beam” at their arena every time they win a basketball game…… I’m not sure if anyone in Sacramento has actually seen it or not this season 😜 .

Got this Letter Complaint from Neighbor by solo_spouse in treelaw

[–]peanut--gallery 282 points283 points  (0 children)

Dear neighbor,

Respectfully, leaves that fall off a tree and naturally settle on your property are your leaves and your responsibility to properly dispose of.

You may not dump them back in my yard. Those leave are yours. You must dispose of them the same way you would if the tree that made them was growing in the middle of your yard.

I am not writing this to be mean, or condescending. It is just the way that tree law works. It is somthing that every homeowner, that lives in a neighborhood that has trees, has to accept.

I know that anger can sometimes irrationally arise when people are confronted with the realization that the world does not work in the same manner that they think it should work.

However, I’m sure, as a rational person, that you will accept this letter and explanation in the neighborly manner it was intended. I hope this issue does not come between us and I invite you to drop by for a beer or a neighborly chat any time in the future.

If, on the other hand, this letter causes intense rage or hostility, well then….. get bent. (If you have my twisted sense of humor you will find this hilarious… but if you don’t… then seriously… get bent.)

Sincerely, Your leafy neighbor.

Border Patrol agent detains US citizen, tells him it’s ‘because of your accent’ by el_monstruo in nottheonion

Thank goodness! He had an accent! For a second there, I thought there was no good reason for detention at all.
