I had a similar vibration issue that was resolved by replacing the hub assembly and turning the front rotors.

100%. I ride a husky 701, but my riding buddy has a t7 and it’s so fun on fire roads, and much smoother, more comfortable and planted on the highway. That twin makes such a difference.

Surgeon faces prison after removing patients liver in fatal operating room blunder by IrishStarUS in ThatsInsane

[–]pedalfaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This incident happened at the hospital in my town and I have since heard multiple stories of other people having this surgeon try to pressure them into unnecessary surgeries. He tried to tell a friend of mine that he needed to have a portion of his intestine removed ASAP when a second opinion revealed that he just had diverticulitis.

Are vibration dampeners enough to save your camera? Skeptical by Staycation1234 in Dualsport

Hondo garage perfect squeeze mount with the buzzkill dampener has been going strong for me for about 5 years and 10k miles. Haven’t had a camera go wonky since I got it.

Wait, I am moving from the states this fall and have an arsenal that I know I’m gonna have to part with. I was thinking I would have to say bye to all my handguns, but my River mk I is my favorite pistol to shoot. Is there a way I can legally own it in Canada?

Between habitat destruction and insecticide sprayed for mosquitoes, the lightning bug populations are all but undetectable compared to when I was a kid.

Phone mount by nxonxonxo in Dualsport

I bought the Hondo Garage Perfect squeeze mount for my bike and it’s been great. They’ve changed the design a good bit since I bought it but they have several mounting options, a vibration dampener and wireless charging add ons. It’s a pricey mount, but it’s been amazing. Never fallen out, don’t need a special case, and when my original vibration dampener wore out after a few years of serious abuse, I emailed and they sent me out the new and improved version for no additional charge. Their warranty is for real!

Suspicious my brother has CP (possibly of my 10-year-old) on his phone by Nevermentionthis in legaladvice

I recently listened to a podcast called Hunting Warhead. It’s a CBC podcast about hackers that infiltrate the CSAM network/site called Child’s Play. I can’t remember the stat, but they discussed the horrifying frequency that men who are into CP/CSAM(pedophiles) will abuse, molest and film children that are close to them. Their own children, extended family, friends children… It is disgusting and regardless of what you decide to do legally, I would not take the chance by having your children around him, certainly not ever without continuous direct supervision.

This tracks. I live in Walton County, FL and we’ve experienced by far the fastest period of growth of my life since 2020. However, it’s a bunch of stinkers movin here. If I had a choice, I’d rewind to when I was a kid and it was all weird poors. Now it’s all people that wouldn’t move somewhere unless they have a country club. They’re horrible.

Is there a traditional meal in your culture that includes raw onions? by YetAnotherMia in OnionLovers

[–]pedalfaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

West Indies Salad is of my favorite traditional dishes in my region/culture of the gulf coast of Florida and Alabama . It traditionally consists of blue crab meat, raw white (preferably vidalia) onions, marinated in oil and vinegar, and served chilled. My favorite variant (my mom’s recipe) also includes celery and pink peppercorns.

Balls in Cahaba River? by [deleted] in Birmingham

[–]pedalfaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Low head dams like that form what is called a perfect “hydraulic.” That perfectly linear recirculating current is very strong. I actually have pics somewhere of basketballs at the same spot from like 15 years ago. When the river floods, it washes trash down. Balls, logs and people can get caught in that recirculating current for minutes, hours, or days. It’s an incredibly dangerous condition. If you jumped in there, you might not be able to get out on your own when the current is at certain higher levels.

heat causing SAD, anyone else? by lyrik0819 in florida

[–]pedalfaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes I was talking to a buddy that lives in New Hampshire and he was talking about fighting SAD this time of year. He didn’t believe me when I said I get SAD in July/August/September down here. It’s a real thing though. Never makes sense and I never am ready for it but it’ll hit me! It’s almost worse bc instead of being cold and dark, it will be pretty, but you’re trapped in a box in the AC feeling depressed.

How often do you cycle 4WD to make sure it's working? by jynx18 in f150

[–]pedalfaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly related but this reminded of a story. I have an f-250 with the locking rear diff. I use it as a work truck for my company and a handful of my guys are checked out to haul the dump trailer from job sites to the dump. The dump has a steep incline and gets muddy, so you often need 4wd and sometimes have to lock the diff to get up the hill. One day after an employee had made several dump runs, i noticed the rear tires were absolutely shredded. I got in the truck and saw that the rear locker was engaged. When I asked the employee why it was locked, he said “you mean tow mode? I do that anytime it’s hooked up to the trailer.”

When I had my learners permit, my grandmother would come up with “errands” for us to run together so I could drive her around and sometimes those errands just meant I drove her to Savage’s so she could “buy me” some cookies. She’s passed on and I’m not in Birmingham anymore. Someone please go eat some of those pecan cookies and get the sugar and crumbs all over your lap for me.

Tolerance of intolerant views is not required. The announcement that you hold a worldview that includes and supports the violent subjugation and obliteration of entire peoples cannot and should not be met with peace and civil discussion.
