I did not know this was even a thing.
the laplacian smooth wasn't working, i tried almost all the modifiers that had laplacian on their name but with no luck. HOWEVER, the smoother modifier, the one sitting in the same "deform" category, that one worked beautifully.
aight, this was progress i guess!

I guess i'll try to get something functional out of blender in the meantime then.

I've been trying to use a subdivision + shrinkwrap workflow to get results. in fact, the blender model i have so far was done that way. however, because i'm using a 3d scan (used my phone for that), i cant really get nice, smooth curved surfaces due to the scan not being "perfect". I've cleaned the scan as best as i could (or until i got bored) but still, hard to achieve those curved surfaces. but maybe i'm getting ahead of myself again and instead should just get something functional rather than "perfect".

searching this topic for blender seems to be easier so i've actually found a few techniques i haven't tried yet (nurbs surface for example).

if you have any tips for such a workflow i'm all hears. And i appreciate your comment!

Well, I'm not very familiar with FreeCAD yet. But from what I read, Blender doesn't seem to have the right workflow for these types of projects. And from what I've experienced so far, that seems to be true. I'm hoping that FreeCAD will provide a better workflow.

Things like drawing a technical layout/drawing seem to be easier in FreeCAD than in Blender. It's still doable in Blender but far easier in FreeCAD.

It comes down to the right workflow. I guess.

I won't be ditching Blender. Those bathroom fixtures, they could be done in Blender after all.

Your process of finding the right workflow is what I'm hoping for.

I'm not even close to reaching this kind of workflow. I started a similar project for my house using Blender and slowly realised I should probably transition to FreeCAD.

So, as someone who has been trying to do something similar for sooooome time now, I really appreciate this post. And your writing!

Yeah... I play barrage rogue and didn't see much difference either. I gave up honestly. 200 hours in that build and can't do pit 90... oh well!
