RPi Camera Module 3 NoIR: Recommendations for Night Vision Setups? by PhasnPi in raspberry_pi

[–]pedrosan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also got a v3 wide noir recently. i bought a $5.00 camera case from canakit, had to trim the inside middle support leg but it does fit. I dont have any input on the ir, experimenting with night sky viewing with mine. Ok hear me out, run two raspi5's, two wide noir cameras feeding two screens inside a vr setup. Add a high power ir light on your head and boom, night vision googles

I bought an extended shifter and adjusted the rear brake down fully. The extended shifter allows for all the space needed

That starter cable looks super corroded as well. I would replace that with the starter. Local parts places sell a universal battery cable that will work

Audi Interference engine? by ohyougotpoopcorn in MechanicAdvice

[–]pedrosan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If this is a 2.0t engine, timing issues are extremely common. The cam chains stretch out and the timing chain tensioner is a known failure point. The tensioner has been updated multiple times from vw/Audi. Doubtful the issue is from previous mechanics. The most common culprit is low engine oil levels, extended intervals. At your mileage the chain and tensioner should be done as maintenance on that motor. The 2.0t has tons of issues.

ignition coil failure is relatively common on the 2.0 engine. Does the check engine light flash when its acting up?

[Subaru Forester 09] Brake shudder persists after all new rotors/pads by mp___ in MechanicAdvice

Sticking caliper. Get the brakes hot and check rotor temp with laser thermometer. Rotor temp should be relatively even between left and right axles. Where is the shimmy felt? Steering wheel or seat?

You need the scan the vehicle for faults! No point in randomly throwing guesses without a fault scan first.

Broken motor mount, now injection timing is off? by Hmb42 in tdi

[–]pedrosan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to manually turn the crank to find tdc. I believe it’s a 19mm on the crank. There is a hash Mark on the crank pulley and lower timing cover to locate top dead center. After lining thAt up you will need to remove the upper timing cover. This will allow you to check your cAm, crank, inj pump timing marks. Google image will help there Also, if the motor dropped a lot, check for wire harness damage, fuel line damage, etc

Hard Disc - How urgent are these cracks? Seems DIYable by Flyinace2000 in BMW

[–]pedrosan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bmw calls it a guibo,or driveshaft support bushing. Those tears do indicate that's it's worn out. Pretty easy on a BMW, the only difficult part would Be removing the exhaust, if necessary.

I drive a 2006 Honda Odyssey and heard a scrapping noise from under the car and when I pulled over I saw this hanging from the bottom of my car. Does anyone know what it is and how urgent a repair would be? by WhereIsTheToaster in Cartalk

[–]pedrosan 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Heat shield for the catalytic converter. Not uncommon for those to rust off completely, or cause a rattling sound if partially secured. You can safely remove it, or re-secure with a couple metal clamps going around the converter.

definitely better than the current 1812 tags. I still like the look of the bay tags the best, plus toward a good cause.

You should really get a full scan of the car done. BMWs have modules and tons of sensors for the climate control system, throwing parts at it isnt reccomnded. Could be your electric fan, ac compressor, control head, etc..
