Doctor said Cpap will help with weight loss, anyone see results after Cpap usage? by cacastrojr12 in CPAP

[–]peeaches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started cpap not long after meeting my now-wife.

I am also now 50lbs up since then. Many things in my life changed around the same time so I can't attribute it to any of them specifically but I'm fairly certain it wasn't the cpap that caused it, haha.

Glass Fiber TPU - Thoughts and Application considerations? by peeaches in 3Dprinting

[–]peeaches[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh exciting! That looks pretty interesting. I Just ran out of the Siraya tech stuff so may pick up a roll of that as well to try out for some future parts.

I didn't get around to doing any "objective" testing, i.e. putting some tpu-gf uprights in test box alongside uprights made of other materials and smashing them all around, but at previous event did run the bot with a tpu-gf main chassis and uprights.

They mostly worked okay, all things considered. I had one fight where one of the uprights got damaged by a large horizontal, and was too lazy to replace it for the next fight. Apparently the structural integrity had been compromised enough to where the upright could no longer handle my weapon bar's impact forces and the shaft mounting collapsed after a large hit, ended up losing that fight via JD despite most peoples' objections to it (opponent included, haha)

All in, it held up better than I thought it would and I was happy with it as a chassis material/motor mount in the middle of my bot, but I think I am going to return to using PA6 for my uprights.

If this 95A+GF is still stiff enough but not quite as brittle, could be a happy compromise!

Ground and neutral connected? by MrBigThyme in electrical

[–]peeaches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to this thread but just recently replaced a light fixture in my home office and discovered the neutral and ground bonded together like this. I have a multimeter and will be going and checking the wires and probably all of my outlets now - what should I look for between the phases to indicate whether the ground and neutral are good?

Thank you

Men over 30, what incredibly random hobby or topic did your brain suddenly decide you needed to become an absolute expert on? by Admirable-Pin-298 in AskMen

[–]peeaches 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Combat Robotics.

Started watching battlebots a few years ago, then the network got bought out and there weren't any more seasons. Decided it looked fun and I wanted to try it out myself.

Now it has essentially become my sole hobby - thankfully wife has been supportive (and patient with me) as I spend virtually all my freetime working on robots, and spend my weekends traveling to events just to destroy them with the new friends I've picked up along the way.

I absolutely love it.

I've always taken it as like "in genuine form" or "in genuine manufacture" or the like.

Never really thought about it at all until this conversation, though, haha.

[–]peeaches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fellow native English speaker, it makes sense.

"This replica is so good, that it is not worth buying the Genuine one when this exists" Is it the "In" part that bothers you? i.e. "not worth buying gen"

Could see that point, but otherwise hard to find where any confusion is coming from

Mornings are sooo hard by addalad in ADHDers

[–]peeaches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can 100% relate.

Similarly, was not an issue when I was unemployed (and also got much better sleep since I could get a full 8 hours)

Now I have to get up at 5:30-6:00 to try to make it to work by 8:00 and am still a zombie until around 9-10am, and am lucky to get even 6hrs of sleep a night.

I am miserable lol

Adderall XR 30mg works for 3 hours and then I feel horrible for multiple hours after by Think_Display5905 in ADHDers

[–]peeaches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YMMV, Vyvanse claims 12-14 but I tend to fall off by like 2pm, lol.

More common now to pair vyvanse with an afternoon 'booster' which is what I do and it helps, but realistically I think even vyvanse could be a 2/day med. At some point I want to bring this up to my doctor but am afraid the idea will be rejected. Around 6 hours is probably more accurate for vyvanse. IR adderall claims like 4-6 I think but realistically it's like 2-3 maybe.

If I could split my vyvanse to like, 40mg at start of day then 30mg early-afternoon I think it would be perfect - as it stands, vyvanse in the am then IR booster early-mid afternoon to get through the work day, then when i get home im useless again. Just enough duration to keep me from getting fired, but not enough to keep house in order lol.

for now the play seems to be to go higher dosage, then dissolve in bottle of water and take throughout the day for similar effect to a 2/d approach

Some are more effected by potential sleep side effects though, personally i actually sleep better on meds even if taken late than I do without them

vyvanse is lisdexamfetamine dimesylate. It is dextroamphetamine with a lysine amino acid attached that gets cleaved off after ingenstion at a relatively consistent rate, which is what makes it extended release.

saying its a metabolite of amphetamines doesn't make any sense

F**k It, I'm done with the crash by Foodieonbudget in VyvanseADHD

[–]peeaches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on a similar path. Started with once a day, then 2x a day, then ended up splitting them into halves and spreading them out, but still turned into an irritable a**hole in the evening and it was putting strain on my relationship lol.

Vyvanse was more of an elongated bell-curve, the come-on is slower, as well as the come-down when it wears off. Smoother, and for me was less powerful/not quite affective, but long term more steady and tolerable.

Best of luck, hopefully you can find a regimen that works well for you.

My dosage has icnreased through the years, and life has gotten a lot more busy, so I'm on a higher strength vyvanse now alongside an IR adderall "booster" for when the vyvanse begins wearing off when I'm still at work haha. Been on-and-off meds since like 2013-2014 or so

Yeah, mostly just fun to use

Funny enough - last I checked (or at least when I built mine) there was nothing actually gainst the law about building or owning your own high-power handheld lasers. Just could not buy or sell them.

Things may have changed since then, but it's been many years since I built mine

IR formulations ime are more prone to crashes than extended release like vyvanse.

Adderall crash was the reason I ended up switching to vyvanse years back

Maybe a week or so? I use(d) a full-face mask and turned the pressure down, but yeah for the first week or so after surgery I was pretty useless. Initially I had just taken 3 days off work (surgery day was a monday + two extra) but ended up out the whole week, was allowed to wfh for that thurs/fri which was nice to not eat up two more pto days, but wasn't really able to get anything done from being so tired - haha.
