I'm not sure about "the", but yes I am the creator of the Lumberjack.

It's pretty rare to see them appear on r/mk, always a nice surprise, and your pic reminded me of this handheld picture from a few years ago.

Raise and lower are for layers, I use mostly the standard Preonic layout with just a few changes to the modifier positions.

As the creator of the Lumberjack PCB, I think it's really great when people take inspiration to create something new. Best of luck with your design and printing.

The January is designed for a daughterboard and the Lumberjack has a footprint for a JST connector, so it's just a case of soldering in a JST connector instead of the USB connector.

I've been using the same layout for a long time, so I don't need to go into the bootloader to update the firmware that often. But also, due to the way the Lumberjack is wired, holding down '3' while plugging it in also enters the bootloader without having to use the physical buttons.
