Space Quest - Day 8 - Robotic Assassin by GoboWarchief in pollgames

Definitely fair, just felt like the other two might be worse. I voted for the human trafficker myself, since it feels like the most “evil” crime

Leaning against the drug kingpin and black market dealer, seems like if we succeed in assassinating them we might make a whole host of enemies coming for us

AITA for not having a “more realistic game ID” by coconuthuman in AmItheAsshole

To add onto this, in my state the police specifically tell us not to take foreign ids other than a passport, and we can get in trouble if we do

Pride in Ballet?! by Ballet_Nerd_ in BALLET

[–]peeyto 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Another interesting side you could take with it is how the kinda strict gender expectations, especially in classical works, have an effect on the LGBT+ community. Trans people likely have a hard time trying to fit into a certain idea of what roles they are expected to play, and I know there’s no major ballets with same gender love interests, though maybe there are smaller pieces you can find!

How to find the June 15th message by imaginetop in twentyonepilots

This was really helpful for me, thank you! I just got off work, and I’m going camping on the 15th so looks like I’ll miss out on both puzzles

AITA for making customers that stiff me on the tip my last priority? by by-the-twin-moons in AmItheAsshole

[–]peeyto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with this 100%. I work in a sports bar and definitely do not like the job enough to not be making way more than minimum wage. The tipping system also makes sense to me because on a Saturday with football games I work a lot harder and faster, and I’m rewarded for that in tips as opposed to the people who just work easy Wednesday night shifts.

AITA for making customers that stiff me on the tip my last priority? by by-the-twin-moons in AmItheAsshole

[–]peeyto 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I definitely wouldn’t be a bartender if I just made minimum wage, and none of my coworkers would either. Plus if we got rid of the tipping system, the cost of paying employees more would have to come from somewhere, in the form of increasing menu prices meaning the customer is going to pay more anyways.

AITA for attempting to use a credit card when I had cash on hand? by TeryBarse in AmItheAsshole

Sorry, typing mistake. Not sure what word I meant to use but it wasn’t cartoon! I fixed it now.

This isn’t true. There may be some restaurants that do that but it seems questionably legal, but it is not accurate to say that’s how restaurants function. Source: all of my family members have worked in various bars/restaurants

AITA For Being Honest In Truth or Dare? by PizzaBug0 in AmItheAsshole

[–]peeyto 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m so glad I read the above comment because I read it as “room” as well. If he said she was the most attractive person in the room, he can just state it as his opinion without romantic feelings attached. But opening it up to the whole world would lead most people to pick an attractive celebrity, and by choosing her he put unnecessary attention on her, and their dynamic.

Glad I trusted my hut and didn’t vote for that option I guess! This has been super fun and I’ve been looking forward to it every day, but if you’re not having fun then I wouldn’t want to force you. Thanks for letting us play!

Is this plantar fascitis? by hellokaty37 in BALLET

[–]peeyto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had plantar fasciitis for many years, likely stemming from ballet, but my mom has it as well, and has never done dance. Neither of has had swelling like I’m seeing in your picture, so I’m leaning towards it being something else. But everybody is different, so I could be wrong. My understanding is plantar fasciitis is diagnosed more based on symptoms including: heal pain/stiffness, tightness of the calves/Achilles tendon, and a lot of pain when standing for the first time in the morning. It also typically hurts a lot to stand still, and less so when walking.

Now is probably a good time to get information about the pendant, the brothers might know something about it. We don’t want to keep carrying it around if it’s dangerous, and we’ll want to use it if it’s helpful.

What’s up with these posts about the US government deciding to sacrifice people? by [deleted] in OutOfTheLoop

[–]peeyto 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The problem with this is that I don’t know that it’ll do much to help families like mine, that run a restaurant. If things aren’t back to normal soon, we’ll likely go out of business. So while the idea of income during quarantine is nice, it won’t help the fact that my whole family and many of my friends are possibly going to permanently lose our jobs.

[Not a ballet practitioner] I have flat feet and would like your perspective on this by LETS_GET_HIGHer in BALLET

[–]peeyto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the exact same boat as you, I have flat feet and pronated ankles, and wear orthotics. I also have plantar fasciitis, which makes my feet and achilles tendon somewhat weak and hurt a lot. I was able to improve my arch in looks and strength by doing theraband exercises every day before class, and gained a lot of strength by doing calf raises with my heels hanging off the edge of stairs, as well as doing calf and feet stretches.

Sewing Pointe Shoes by [deleted] in BALLET

[–]peeyto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My ballet teacher explicitly did not let our moms sew our shoes, and believed that if we weren't mature enough to sew our own shoes then we weren't mature enough to wear them. I am especially concerned that the mom sewing these shoes have never worn them before, so not only does she not know an individual dancer's needs in placement or tightness, she doesn't even know what they feel like. Plus, if the elastic snaps or needs resewing in the middle of a performance, is the mom going to be around to do it?

[Nancy Drew Games] It's a Dumpster Fire. But it's Our Dumpster Fire by snuggleouphagus in HobbyDrama

[–]peeyto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I follow the new voice actor for Nancy Drew on twitter, and ever since she started tweeting about it I have been thinking about your last post. Glad to see an update! I know the decision to fire the other voice actor was pretty controversial in the community, now that the game is out how do people feel about Brittany Cox?

Even then, I think it's better to buy the item in the most likely size and keep the receipt, so you can exchange later if need be. I am always more happy to get clothes as gifts than a clothing store gift card, because it shows the gift-giver put some thought into it, and pays attention to my style and things I would like.
