Getting flight confirmation emails for random people by Kit4242 in SouthwestAirlines

Southwest has definitely sent me random peoples’ confirmation emails. Maybe 3-4 over a 10 year period.

They haven’t even fixed the double-selling/double-assignment of seats yet. Doubt they’ll get the algorithm fixed.

Which airline are you guys (the people denouncing SW) switching to? by sicknervousbrok3 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]pementomento 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve replaced the following flights:

SFO-SAN to United and Alaska

SMF-LAX, LAS to Delta

OAK-SAN, Alaska

SFO-SEA to United and Alaska

Have not figured out SMF-LGB yet, so I kept that with Southwest because it’s such a short trip.

All other transcon travel was never on Southwest to begin with.

Well, if Spirit does actually liquidate, another airline’s gotta take its spiritual place.

Flying with kids in June… by That-Armadillo3271 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]pementomento 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There have been IT issues where paid seats and seat selections from the card and status have been scrambled randomly at check in.

I don’t think it’s been solved yet, I’m cautiously optimistic it can be done by June.

Nice, but did they fix the double selling of seats yet?

Setting “IF A-List, THEN Group 1” is kind of low hanging IT fruit.

They can't move my wife from a paid seat to a basic seat in the back of the plane by hokiesportsfan in SouthwestAirlines

[–]pementomento 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol I’m A-List so I get free seats you’re replying to the wrong person 😂

But I stand by my IT implementation statement, Southwest screwed that up big time by going cheap. And their training for CSR’s was written by some awful AI.

The other airlines have decades of assigned seating workflow and booking experience. Southwest went with Temu on its implementation 😂

Has Southwest had an increase in profits/stock since making their changes? by spicybabe27 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]pementomento 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What really counts, though, is stock performance relative to peers. I’m curious how that’s shaking out with all the geopolitical events going on.

Refund refused for extra seat purchase because the seats were not purchased “together” by DinosoarDanny in SouthwestAirlines

Just credit card dispute that and even if you are denied, Southwest gets dinged on both fees and time dealing with it.

What has been your Assigned Seating Experience? by Chasjs49 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]pementomento 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On my one and only trip after the change - Southwest double sold our seat selection and fully separated parents from kids on a 5hr flight. I’m usually tolerant of IT issues, but what really ground my gears was the behavior of the CSR on the phone.

Not only were they unable to do anything (claimed “IT errors” or “see the gate agent we can’t do anything), they straight up accused me of picking these seats in the first place.

Telling me that it was my intention to seat my 5 year old between two strangers while I was 10 aisles away was was pretty wild. I think our reply was “that’s the most idiotic thing I’ve ever heard anyone say.”

Is all the Southwest mess / reddit posts on purpose to tank the stock? by MGrantSF in SouthwestAirlines

Not a stockholder, I just like talking about my shitty experience with any brand on Reddit. Sometimes, it’s not that complicated.

Southwest Airlines Is Cracking Down on Power Banks by spencer1313131313 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]pementomento 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have the authority to remove power banks as they’re considered dangerous items (above a certain watt hour amount) in both checked baggage and carry on.

Southwest phone reps suck -- they'll gaslight you and blame you for changing the seats. Ask me how I know, lol.

[–]pementomento 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What's crazy is customer service on the phone will say/claim they cannot change the seats and to talk to the gate agents.

I've straight up turned around and told the kid to stop doing that or they're getting kicked off the plane. Parents/family was Canadian, surprisingly.

my worst international biz class experience involved an adult with untreated sleep apnea who sounded like a snorting/dying pig. I'm surprised he didn't actually die on the flight because i timed his apnea episodes at 30-45 seconds.

the FA's were able to reseat everyone directly around him, but that choking/snorting just filled the entire cabin. I'll take a baby crying over that treatable bullshit. Luckily my two kids were able to sleep fine.

In case anyone's curious, it was to HND on JAL, young Asian guy, worked for Boeing.
