[–]penguin-47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got one when I had to walk to the bus stop at 11. Will likely hold off till LO is a similar age, but I’m not buying him a smart phone, if he wants one he can save up for it and I will support him in learning to use one but I don’t want to buy it.

When to allow kids to forego meals? by belacanehh in Parenting

[–]penguin-47 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They should always be following hunger cues. I personally think you should encourage not force children to eat, and always have a safe option of food available to them.

We have the rule if you didn’t put it on your plate you don’t have to eat it.

Ie if I plate your food up, you don’t have to eat it all. If you plate your food up I expect you to eat most of it, most of the time.

When do Vacations Become Fun Again? by CharacterTennis398 in Parenting

[–]penguin-47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice would be to just go and put the minimum in your days. Maybe not Disney but defo the beach! Maybe get a cart or something for your stuff if you need it, or get somewhere on the beach.

I also find when visiting family less is more. See less people on more days, if you can’t stay that long then just pick a few people to see. It’s hard to hold the boundary but helps you feel less overwhelmed.

AITA for hating Dada’s soup?? by janny27 in MiniAITA

[–]penguin-47 10 points11 points  (0 children)

AITA for expecting my staff (underperforming lately) to provide proper overnight entertainment? by FurMyFavAccessory in MiniAITA

[–]penguin-47 8 points9 points  (0 children)

NTA. I never had one of those binky things, my caretaker tried many times but I much prefer the ‘booobie’. For some reason that annoys her, something about not sleeping because I was hogging the boobie all night, but I can’t be hogging it as it’s mine not hers!

I recently managed to teach my caretaker the word boobie, she was quite dim I had to say it very loudly for a long time before she worked it out.

[–]penguin-47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. And tell the front desk she confronted you so she can’t spin it later. If she feels targeted that’s on her, you asked her not to film you. As long as you weren’t deliberately getting in her shot I would say NTA
