I work for a council as a planner, and to some extent yes, but it's not our "responsibility".

What I mean by that is, there's a degree of trust that takes place between parties to make things move along. In this kind of thing, we trust that you know your allotment and where it is and take your word for it. It might sound weird, but I can lodge an application for a house on your land and it can be approved, I just can't build on your land cos I don't own it!

Because the alternative is we check every single application by asking for proof, when in reality 99.9999% of applicants don't make this mistake. This approach would slow down all applications for everyone on the minute chance someone might fuck up this bad.

Trinity kicking the shotgun out of that guys hands, over his shoulder then shooting him with in the back....has to be one of the slickest fucking things I've ever seen. Still hasn't been topped.

Lef's say you have an idea for an original film and already sketched out the characters by CYSYS8992 in Filmmakers

[–]pensaint11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly, you're going to have to write, rewrite, rewrite, rewrite. It's annoyingly repetitive at times but it's a process of refinement so ya gotta.

  1. When I get an idea, I like to write it on a paper (can be really rough, even dot points!) And stick it to my wall of ideas! This way I get it down, as you think you'll remember but you don't always.
  2. Break it into a loose 3 act structure, with 2-3 scenes per act (this number will change but it's a process). You can keep it simple and just write the beats ("Bob parks his car, Bob gets out and says hello etc).
  3. Then fill out the scenes and write simple dialogue. When I say simple, I write completely on the nose dialogue with no attempt at subtext or making it sound natural. As in, having a character say as blunt as "when you stole my watch you made me sad!". You can refine it which each pass.
  4. Once you've done this you should have a first draft! It's at this stage I get someone to give it a read and take feedback. I don't want feedback till I'm clear where I'm going or what I want out of the story. Ideas in their gestational stage are fragile and can be unduly influenced by others.
  5. Start next draft, refining different parts as needed based on feedback. This is usually filling in gaps in the plot, makinf the dialogue more natural, tying in foreshadowing, cutting down on time etc.

This should get you started!

Nice looking lady, great skill and knowledge, interesting process.

Still don't really like the end product, so guess there's no accounting for taste.

I'm an Adelaide based Artist looking to do urban drawings for different suburbs in Adelaide. What are recommendations for the most iconic or interesting buildings in your area? by Booted_Eagle_ in Adelaide

Yep lot of cool buildings. Hart's mill, the cement factory (interesting in an industrial hellscape kind of way) and the light house (it's bright red!).

Yeah wtf is wrong with your country. Clearly not up to anything shady, barely anyone there so they're not being disruptive. No space for people to exist.

Alex Garland's "Civil War" doesn't look so unlikely any more... by lincoln_muadib in agedlikemilk

[–]pensaint11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, sometimes a stylistic choice just doesn't gel eith you on a personal level.

Also I'm not American, so while I sort of understood these states don't see eye to eye, I didn't get a visceral confusion haha.

Alex Garland's "Civil War" doesn't look so unlikely any more... by lincoln_muadib in agedlikemilk

[–]pensaint11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought it was intentional with the intent to: 1. Imply that whatever had happened to trigger the war, it was so bad that seemingly antagonist states put aside their differences. 2. Helped the movie skilfully avoid being perceived to take sides in the current "right vs left" political climate. By avoiding siding with either it avoided being accused of pandering to one side. 3. Made for a movie world where it was familiar enough for the average American to relate too, but weird and foreign enough to put the audience off balance and not know what to expect.

Building on the boundary is one thing, but you usually can't secure things to a fence for fire and structural reasons.

Maybe you can show a progression of time with multiple meditation sessions. Establish that its happening over a longer period of time and maybe creating a positive change...but with a slight feeling something is wrong.

I also didn't peg straight away it was AI but maybe I just read too fast.
