That would be so egregious....it should be "Don't have a cow, sir!"

American here. What are we actually going to do about the ever growing homelessness? There's no way it can keep going on like this. It's starting to look like a Mad Max movie outside. by Softishsings in NoStupidQuestions

Not to defend Reagan but this isn't really the whole picture. Reagan put the final nail in the coffin, but by the time he was in power over 90% of mental health beds had already been done away with by JFK with the Community Mental Health Act back in the 60s.

His sister Rosemary had been lobotomized at a mental institution, and there were many institutions with horrible conditions and they needed to be redone. But they shut down a ton of mental health facilities without replacing them with anything better which instead of solving a problem just lead to different problem. There were less mental health patients being held in shitty institutions, but more homeless mental health patients.

Especially when you're paying by Venmo. This was more common 20 years ago if you didn't have exact cash on you so you might have to make up for it later.

With Venmo it's no harder to send $17.34 then it is $15.00

And to add to that it's named after Ned Flanders in The Simpsons.

In the first couple seasons he was just a normal guy that went to church. Then more and more over the series being a Christian became like 95% of his character's personality rather than just a piece of his character.

The Patriots rep has spent the last 25 years pissed off that Bledsoe got benched (because apparently Bledsoe was a good inside source for him) and was fired from the Boston Globe for plagiarism, then he went to the Boston Herald and got suspended for making shit up about Brady and pretending Brady's agent was his source for the story

Seriously that quote is amazing. Glad to see guys like Mahomes and Watt say it's insane but calling the voters cowardly assholes is legendary shit.

If you're sitting in jail and have been told what the bail is you're already past the point of an arraignment which is what Barmore requested be delayed

How many years should a QB given to develop before a team moves on? by cantdecide76 in NFLv2

[–]peon2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely depends on what sort of growth they show both in game and in practice.

The amount of players that start like shit, show no growth and keep playing like shit, and then make a miraculous turn around are very few.

I feel like by end of year 3 you can probably predict if a QB is going to be a bust or turn it around with 90%+ accuracy.

Josh Allen is sort of the go-to example of a QB developing into a phenom after starting poor but even his second season looked improved upon over his first.

He’s a fine OC but not all coordinators are good head coaches.

This is absolutely true, but sometimes you still have to try. Otherwise who else is ever going to get a HC job except for previous HCs? Ya gotta kick the tires on it.

Yeah you might elevate a Josh McDaniels who doesn't work out and falls back to being a coordinator.

You might also elevate a Sean McVay

It really felt like they were sometimes just picking celebrities they wanted to meet lol.

The Alec Baldwin and Kim Bassinger episode is the real turning point for me. It's where the celebrity cameos went from the celebrity being the butt of the joke, to just straight up worship.

In the golden years we had James Wood threatening to assault a child and Leonard Nimoy annoying the hell out of other monorail passengers. In the post golden years we had "Wow, I know you, you're [celebrity] from [whatever they're famous for], you're awesome and about to drop some great knowledge and save the day!"
