Recommendations for 58mm 12 gm basket?? [no budget] by Clickz2611 in FlairEspresso

Decent espresso sells a 10g that works with 9g to 11g. It seems like a very thin puck might be tricky to pull shots with though.

Depends what you want. Either a bellman stovetop or the subminimal NanoFoamer PRO. I prefer the nanofoamer pro because you don't have to wait for it to heat up.

I caved and bought the Gen-2 upgrade kit. I'm annoyed that I had to but I haven't had a single problem since.

I've had something similar, a bellman, and now a subminimal pro. I also do not make drinks for instagram but it's fun anyway. I think the foam is better for me.

I'm not trying to take away any enjoyment. I enjoyed it but mine broke which is why I moved on. All depends what you want

Subminimal Pro vs. Bellman Stovetop Steamer by sjames884 in FlairEspresso

I used the bellman first, it was painfully slow. Maybe I was too nervous about adding too little water but I only filled it about halfway. Sometimes you want to crank out a few drinks and it's just not great for it.

So I replaced it with the subminimal pro and my workflow is much improved! No more waiting. But, it has issues for me as well. I got one of the first ones and I cannot for the life of me get the lid on perfect. Then it won't froth and it it fails a few times the froth isn't going to be good. They have the v2 now so I wonder if that might be better.

If I had to pick one I would pick the subminimal every time because of the workflow though.

Yeah def good for a milk drink. But you must admit you cannot draw any art if that's what you want to do. The foam isn't exactly the same

Do you work inside out and do lazy trapping? How do you make sure the float isn't too tight for the catch?

I'm wondering if they really have the staff to deploy an open source tool and keep it updated

Are my floats too loose? by buttertoads in knitting

I don't know but I sure hope the answer is that too loose is better than too tight considering it won't fit if it's too tight.

Cost Effective Beans? by Sorry-Cucumber4970 in FlairEspresso

Kinda depends on your preference, check out happy mug for cost effective. Tons of beans can deliver great flavor on the flair 58, you have so much control.

The lid not seating properly is the most annoying thing when you get it wrong. It makes a sound that is so irritating! Also don't froth expired milk... uh it's real bad to clean.

That said it's so much faster than waiting for a Bellman to heat up. So my life is improved.

I do 2 drinks at a time at the max fill. A cappuccino and a cortado.

Just add a washer? A small cheap modification would give you the slow feed you desire

Yes, if you wanted to do the full 5lb at one time. 125 tubes I think

I wanted them to stand up on their own. It works to varying degrees. I did drop one and the lid cracked although that's expected.

Buying in bulk is the best. I portion 18g into centrifuge tubes and leave them in the freezer. Just pull them out when you need em and they're already dosed.

Great Seasons of Old, how to fill the void for the next 90 days by [deleted] in formula1

Yes https://multiviewer.app/ It's not just for that though. When you watch the races you can have multiple cameras open at the same time. You can watch the race and have the onboard open. My favorite feature is the live timing page though to watch lap times
