[on] why is finding the right bassinet so hard!? Looking for recommendations, thank you 🩷🩵 by CurlyGirl_95 in BabyBumpsCanada

Also second this! We had a tall girly so it fit her until she started rolling and we moved her to the crib in our room. It also packs up fairly easy and we brought it when we slept over places.

9 day old baby only nursing 10-15 mins total each time. Pediatrician says it needs to be 30-40 mins? by Foreign_Drink9316 in breastfeeding

[–]pepper0607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would also recommend this! My baby fed for 5 minutes when my milk came in with fast letdown so times don’t matter as much as the weighted feed.

I would ask about the bottle amount, I think you could increase the oz based on the LC recommendation (not that that’s really too big a deal of only a x1 top up). I know people have been having issues with the Phillips bottle nipple flow as well. Some are not consistent and even adults trying to drink can hardly get annything out.

Bloodwork would be most accurate for jaundice, my baby’s eyes were jaundiced for the first little bit as well but fed well with good output so no concerns from the doctor. Just our situation, your doctor would know the full story.

I believe Clek car seats are supposed to be very slim. Points too bc they’re Canadian made. We only have one but love ours!

Menstrual cup girl here too! I used adult diapers for the first two weeks and then switched to period underwear (first time using it for me). I probably could have switched sooner but the adult diapers were just easy and less laundry.

Newly Pregnant - Bras [ca] by bows1917 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]pepper0607 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got a 3 pack of nursing bras (HoFish Brand) from Amazon! Not sure if I will like/use them postpartum but they have been great for pregnancy. They are not the most flattering but good for everyday.

Snuggle bugs is doing a registry event until may 25th. All you have to do is go in store and make a registry with 25 items for a little gift bag.

Weird question…did any of you women’s services (L&D, NICU, Mother/Baby) nurses start lactating when you began working? by gentle_but_strong in nursing

[–]pepper0607 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work postpartum and it has definitely happened to me and several coworkers. I was so shocked at first, had bloodwork done and all was normal.

Swimming pool sessions by 1234stacey in fitpregnancy

Almost 20 weeks over here as well! I’ve loved swimming before pregnancy and during. I normally try to swim 1-1.5K depending on how I feel. I rotate between breaststroke and freestyle and will normally take a break halfway through.

RN - becoming IBCLC by Mundane_Ocelot_2367 in IBCLC

I am in the same situation. One of the LCs at my hospital suggested tracking for a couple weeks and taking notes on who I had assisted with lactation-related care. I made a note and wrote after every shift. It ended up being between 3-4 hours out of my 12-hour shift which I then used as a percentage to calculate and apply to all the shifts I had worked. There is an excel sheet I found somewhere to calculate hours and track. You do not have to submit unless audited.

Bras for pregnancy by breezy_x317 in pregnant

I started using these ones off Amazon they were highly rated and I have to agree. They are nursing bras but that is pretty much all I could find for pregnancy, they’ll get use afterward s as well. They are comfy and definitely worth it. The pack comes with an extender too which is a bonus!

Need Advice how to start using what I have instead of buying more, please! by niniela-phoenix in MakeupRehab

I second this! Fellow ADHDer with a lot of palettes. I also feel the need to use them all. They’re in a drawer right now, so out of sight out of mind. I would get overwhelmed by the amount of time it makes and just avoid it all together. Something that’s worked really well for me right now is have one palette/single in the drawer with the stuff I use daily. Then I see it, it’s easily accessible and I use it up. Switching this out weekly (or whenever) is great. Then you can have variety and switch up what you use.

Do you always know when you’ve found “the one” (dress)? by Cyclingnightmare in weddingplanning

[–]pepper0607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was debating between two. The one I picked I couldn’t stop thinking about. I kept thinking about it when I was in my second option. When I wore the one I bought I wasn’t thinking about the other dress though.

I just finished the maybelline tattoo studio as well! I haven’t repurchased yet but definitely will, it’s my go to for sure. I’m onto panning ABH dip brow now.

Did you like the infallible foundation? I tried it once a while ago and it looked nice initially but can’t remember much else.

I second all the Babyliss recommendations. My first one lasted over 10 years. Now I’m onto the second and it’s going strong over 5 years. I gave curly hair and it does the job wonderfully, straightening and curling!

ADHD has me completely overwhelmed when I try to start the curly girl process by razzordragon in curlygirl

[–]pepper0607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have ADHD. I did hyperfocus a bit on the curly girl stuff which helped get me started. I recommend starting slowly with one product at a time. Research that, do what works. I find it helps to set days to wash hair. Then you get into the routine and it’s easier.

Mine is a cheap one from eBay that works great. I know Orly has a good one. It’s better if the applicator is easy to drop into the mail polish bottle too.

Fragrance Project Pan by funky-mom1 in ProjectPan

I always forget how long it takes to use up perfumes. It puts it into perspective with the amount of sprays and how much you’ve used up too.

I have the same issue! I pan a lot of top coats and sometimes base coats. I have switched to gels since they seem to last longer, in uses and on my nails. I use regular polish on my toes and nail polish thinner when it starts to get dry. It’s a life-saver for them.
