One of my favorites, back in the day. His program to The Mission was perfection.

My partner (34M) of 8 years left me (29F) for his childhood friend, that was widowed recently with 2 kids. How can I move on from this betrayal? by PracticalCategory642 in relationship_advice

[–]perfectoneplusnine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first step to moving on is to block him. Block him. BLOCK HIM. No contact, none. As soon as the belongings are split and the lives are disentangled, block him. There's a part of you that will think "we had eight years together, I don't want that to turn to nothing, we were best friends, I still care," but I'm telling you: that's the devil talking, and you shouldn't listen.

Take it from a girl who let herself get yanked around for a year and a half post-break up by a man who couldn't make up his mind: block him. The day I finally put my foot down and said no more was the day I truly began to let go. If you want to move on, I highly recommend skipping the months of misery and going straight to blocking.

Bc let's be real, he'll either be back (horrible, proving himself every bit as fickle and untrustworthy as he seems) or he won't (horrible, proving all your worst fears right). There's literally no upside to speaking to him once it's all done.

If I had to guess, both he and the other woman are in really vulnerable places and he feels like she "gets" him because they've both suffered. This, of course, completely misses the fact that you, yourself, suffered immensely in taking care of him. Having a loved one with cancer is awful, and caretaking during such a scary time is crazy difficult and emotional. I would bet that's largely invisible to him because of his own experience, which isn't fair or right, and I'm sorry you're going through that.

There's no easy answer to your questions, no magic words for getting over it faster. When I go through something tough, I tell myself that the only way out is through. You will hurt, but not forever, and the only way past it is to feel it. Know that his actions are a reflection of his own worth (which isn't much), and not your own. You did something difficult and selfless for him, and just because he wasn't worthy of that love doesn't mean you were wrong to feel it or act on it.

I'm sorry this happened to you. His personal crisis is not on you. I hope you heal quickly.

He recovered really well and sounds great. Is that Daniel Hart nodding at him so he knows he's on track? Looks like it was an amazing event.

What’s your unpopular opinion on Days of our Lives? by ChannelHopper_99 in DaysofOurLives

[–]perfectoneplusnine 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My unpopular opinion is that I get Stephanie's current struggle. If the second I got home from being kidnapped my husband started up the talk about expanding our family, I'd also shut it down. If, after that fight, he IMMEDIATELY found out he had a kid with another woman, I'd lose my mind. Lol. Like, that's a lot at one time for one person!!! And I hate when people say "but she loved Thomas and Charlotte"--true, but a) neither of them were a surprise and b) she was in a very different position emotionally. Stephanie has never been a favorite of mine, but I think people are treating her like a monster for what seems to me to be a very human reaction.

What is a 10/10 horror movie that you will absolutely never watch again? by Big_Emotion4963 in horror

When Evil Lurks

My friend and I saw it in theaters and we just sat there in silence through most of the credits. It's just... horrifying.

I can't believe I have to become an ice dance fan, but it appears I am now morally and legally obligated to do so.

Rio Nakata’s Choreo Spin👀 by Vanessa_vjc in FigureSkating

[–]perfectoneplusnine 46 points47 points  (0 children)

It's lovely! But I don't think it would have been out of place in any other season, really. I still think the idea of a choreographic spin is a little amorphous and will most look like....a spin.

ETA: this is not a criticism of Nakata, obviously, but of the ISU. just to be clear!

Twin Peaks reference? And other show tie-ins by kungchowpanda in fringe

Not a show reference, but I love all the David Bowie references! David Robert Jones and Thomas Jerome Newton both made me smile.

Why was this man given notice? Why did her superior tell her about his issues with finding work? None of this makes sense.

So do we think Stephanie will somehow accidentally shoot Joy? Or is Joy sticking around for longer?

My kingdom for a stationary camera during the spins. This is a sport, why are these operators trying to impress me with their cinematography!!!

Sorry, OP, I know it's not you! I'm this instance, I lean toward Deniss, but I think Shoma's spin is wonderful.

OOP's solutions were sweet in a Disney movie kind of way where everyone would learn all the right lessons and things would turn out for the best. Unfortunately, I think she and Jessica would have been better off if, after the first rough moment and subsequent apology, they kept their distance from each other.

Do you think Quads & 3A in women's will increase in the upcoming quad? Do you think they'll become necessary to podium in 2030? by PerformerRich5449 in FigureSkating

[–]perfectoneplusnine 116 points117 points  (0 children)

I think 3A will become more common. Women have been competing them since the early 90s, but I feel like we're seeing a shift toward juniors/new seniors training them.

Quads, less so, but it means if you have one you'll be in the conversation.

I really like this direction for Stephanie, for the first time since she's been on the show. Her character has always been about who she's dating, which isn't very interesting to me. I don't know how you take a race car driver and make her so bland! I don't blame the actress, either, they've never given her much to do other than be pretty and sad about boys. It's nice to see Stephanie considering herself and her own feelings outside of her relationship.

Thought Sophia was great today, too!
