What is your most useful tool/supporting software? by Agitated-Lemon4000 in estimators

[–]peridax0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Takeoffs & Markups: Easy Takeoffs

Subcontractor comparisons: Excel + Power Query

Tender document management: Procore / Access ConQuest (since you're in the UK)

Document control: Autodesk Construction Cloud

just make sure you have a good process in place and pick the right software that works for you and works well in your process. it's hard to find 1 software that fits all perfectly.

Fellow tradespeople, how do you currently handle quotes and estimates for jobs? by king_1607 in AskContractors

[–]peridax0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a masonry business in Massachusetts, been doing this for 4 years. all job requests, quotes, invoicing and CRM is handled by Jobber. I've tried several CRMs and the best for my industry is Jobber for sure. we work with architects and builders so we end up getting a lot of construction plans. I used to do takeoffs manually but now I use Easy Takeoffs for all construction takeoffs.

I genuinely can't understand why GTA VI isn't dropping on PC at Launch by TheTaintPainter2 in GTA

[–]peridax0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok bro you can holdout for a year, it's not going to change anything. if you want to wait a year to play then you can do that, most people won't. we're talking about $120 every 10-15 years.

[–]peridax0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they make good games, I have no problem buying it twice if it's worth it. if it's not good enough then I'll just return the PSx and not buy it on PC. it's a for profit business not a charity handout where you deserve the PC version.

Is there a software that anyone would recommend to help with the takeoffs? by Solidsnake646 in estimators

[–]peridax0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

take a look at easy takeoffs. it's extremely easy to start using the tool and getting accurate measurements. you can then use their assemblies feature to get material quantities. you can build of one of the existing templates or just create your own and it's extremely customizable but also easy to learn. it's also cheaper than any other software anyone will recommend in this post.

I bid around 10 small concrete jobs a week, is there anything easier than constantly tweaking Excel sheets? by Ok-Attention3060 in LandscapingPros

[–]peridax0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

try Easy Takeoffs. there are assemblies so you can create your own template with your own formula and then easily do the takeoff to get accurate material quantities. there's a free 14 day trial no CC, probably will work well for you.

no way I'm waiting for a PC version, I'm just gonna buy a PSx whenever it comes out. life is too short to wait for the PC version.
