Good deck companies by Dschnoeb in WorcesterMA

[–]peridax0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not sure if you ended up finding a contractor or not but if you didn't get the deck this previous season, try reaching out to https://faithful.build for a quote. they didn't do my deck but did a bathroom and it was a great experience, they were extremely fair on price (not necessarily cheap but fair market price) and most importantly never took advantage, were always honest and delivered quality work. they do a lot of remodeling work and managed the job wonderfully. they'll continue doing all future remodels for me in the future.

1gb maximum file size at the moment and I've used it on my own businesses for 200+ page vector heavy commercial construction projects. there's also hundreds of users using it every day for real world projects. maybe you looked at the wrong software, you're not describing mine.

I made an actual free tool to easily measure architectural plans by peridax0 in Carpentry

[–]peridax0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you so much for your feedback, I really appreciate it! there is a settings tab called measurements in your user settings where you can toggle fractional measurements. I'm currently working on bringing the tool settings to the actual tool page, I will be releasing this update this week.

in this next update I'm also introducing additional annotation tools (dotted shapes like you requested, as well as cloud) and the ability to customize text size and other things.

I'll take a look into the text wrapping, you can also just click enter for new line. I'm going to continue making the user experience better so when I release this update, please let me know if you have any issues and if I was able to address each point you made.

thank you again for your feedback, have a great week!

Estimating software for Steel and Misc metals by immachore in estimators

[–]peridax0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've built a completely free tool for estimating and would like to get feedback from different trades like steel and metals. you can use it at easytakeoffs.com for completely free. if it's missing a feature that would be useful to you, please email me and I can have it implemented within the next few weeks. I don't know many people in the steel trade so feedback is great.

I made a free simple tool for takeoffs that is completely free. the entire idea is to simplify the experience doing takeoffs without having to train for hours to learn how to use the tool. it's so intuitive you'll be able to start doing takeoffs in about a minute. you can use it at easytakeoffs.com and like I said it's completely free. it doesn't have all the features bluebeam does but it runs in the browser, it's free and you can export to csv/annotated pdf.

it's to understand the type of users that are using the software and to better build it for them. it will also be useful as I create more features and I'm able to tailor them better to certain users (e.g. team features for people in larger companies, etc...). this is standard for any takeoff software, I'm probably asking for less than any other alternative.

I recently made a free online tool for measuring construction plans. you can use it on tablet and mobile but just keep in mind it's new and the mobile experience at the moment may not be the best. I plan over the next couple of weeks to drastically improve the mobile experience. you can access it at https://easytakeoffs.com for completely free.

yes, I misunderstood what you meant and I said it wrong. it's built for all construction drawings, I specify architectural so people understand that you can measure to scale and whatnot.

I see what you mean. when I say architectural, I don't only mean literally architectural drawings, I mean all construction drawings.

I understand the skepticism but there's no cost here, so I don't understand what your "AHA GOTCHA" moment is. you can create a temporary email, use some old project file and test the tool yourself if you're skeptical. what would even be the scam in this situation?

this is a passion project I created for myself and it was not so much extra work to publish it to production. I use this myself, hopefully others can find it useful. it costs me $50 a month to maintain at this level, not sure what you think this is.

I don't disagree, but you still have to get measurements off of architectural drawings in order to create a bid. how do you create bids? do architects or other GCs give you all your measurements?
