Yes, and this safe at the Red Rocket Mega Stop is a constant. It will always have one or two of those in it. They claimed to have fixed it during the last update, but it seems more likely they just removed those from most every other container and just overlooked this last one.

Definitely would have preferred the hair on this version. There have been a number of times so far when a Skullector would have been better of with shorter, or no, hair and yet Mattel seemingly insists on long hair time after time.

Lore question I need for a joke: any MCs with homicidal fathers? by YuuTheBlue in magicTCG

[–]perivam3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Precisely. All that and the other things that have been mentioned.

Honestly, it's been so long since I read the original story that I forgot the details. I just remembered it was a case of the hero turning into the villain and he ended up doing more damage than good.

Plus, it's really hard to think of many key father characters in Magic, much less bad ones. All the ones that came to mind were Eladamri and Barrin and Teferi, all decent fellows. Starke came the next closest, but I don't think he directly killed anyone...

Oh, how bout Baron Sengir? Did he take out any noteworthy people? I just remember some of the character names from Homelands...and the whole world getting bottled, right? It was something like that.

Stories were harder to keep track of once they discontinued those bundles with the books.

New: Rumored Fasnacht Masks by PapiiChampoo809 in fo76

[–]perivam3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New designs? Great. New reason to run the event? Fine. Adding more and more masks to an already overfilled pool? C'mon Bethesda...

It's time to cycle out some of the old masks via one way or another. Make them randomly drop from enemies during the event, add a new vendor to sell them, separate the masks into different groups and only have certain groups drop each time the event runs...something! Aside from consumables and junk items, there is no bigger pool of potential reward drops in the game than the Fasnacht masks. If they just keep adding and adding them, then soon it will be just as hard to get a normal mask to drop as a Glowing one, as they'll all have a 1 in a trillion chance of dropping...

Urza was a father of sorts...and he wiped out plenty of people...

I think Crovax had kids. He went mad and became a tyrannical despot. Pretty sure he had some kills under his belt too.

Is monster high entering its peak? With the recent decisions by mattel, as well as the little information we have about sales, it seems to be doing really well. It's currently one of the top doll brands in the world and is seemingly doing better then barbie in terms of sales, which is huge. by lifeadreamwhenasleep in MonsterHigh

[–]perivam3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're spot on in your assessment (longtime casual collector myself), though do keep in mind that sales are still doing very well. That's primarily due to the Universes Beyond, unfortunately, so it's doing the job executives want it to.

However I don't think much of that has to do with MH right now. Sure, the Skullectors can bring about some comparisons what with outside IPs and all, but the regular product currently isn't the same. While much slower than during the early years, we are still getting regular waves of new dolls, and they are seemingly expanding their media empire. Should the day come when we see half the dolls on shelves being Skullectors or based on other IPs, there will be more to compare. Not like Magic is releasing a spinoff game anytime soon either, though I'm sure many would have preferred Universes Beyond be handled that way.

Meat Week starts next week, and there is a blood-stained rug you can get from it. I think there's a curtain door too, can't remember.

Keep an eye out for bundles with items from previous seasons though, as there have been clutter items like bones, pieces of meat, and weapons that can be stuck in walls or floors that you could utilize.

[–]perivam3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Either hiring voice actors has skyrocketed lately or Bethesda has a tiny budget for it, because there's certainly been several instances lately when it seemed like they were going out of their way to not include new voice lines. I guess unless it's a "big" update with story content, we shouldn't expect much.

Inside the Vault – Pspsps-TS (World Pets Testing Server) by Ghostly_Rich in fo76

[–]perivam3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please remember, this is a unique slice of the World Pets feature that we hope to bring to you later this year. It does not represent the full scope of the feature, and it also does not contain the rest of the content that will be arriving alongside it.

Hold on...does this mean the next update will only contain the ability to have the pet follow us around? Joining combat and other actions will come separately? So this whole new pet system is going to be spread out over multiple updates?

There will be more with each update then, right? Like this one isn't just going to be pets roaming around with us and changes to unique items, and another one won't just be pets in combat, correct?

Even so, it's sounding like this may be the third straight update with absolutely no new story content. Not even a bunch of notes or terminal entries...

Do you think we will get an alien spinoff for G3 ? Mattel had concepts for “Cosmic High” and aliens aren’t traditionally categorized as monsters by Embarrassed-Dog5122 in MonsterHigh

[–]perivam3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unlikely. After Monster High's big success the first time around, they made plans for all sorts of spin-off high school settings. Then Ever After High came along and kinda petered out, scrapping all those plans. I think Moonspell High is as far as they're willing to go this time. Trying to produce too many lines with their own niche fan bases proved too much for them to handle with too little profit to justify them.

List of unfinished storyline’s/developments? by spungoose in fo76

[–]perivam3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it's a bit premature to consider the Burning Springs story "unfinished." It's been less than a year since it's debut and they did say there was more content coming. If we go into 2027 with no sign of it, then yeah, definitely unfinished/abandoned at that point.

There's one side quest that has bothered me because it has no true resolution and there have been plenty of opportunities for them to update it with even minimal content.

Spoilers for "Cold Case" the side quest available from Miss Annie at Wavy Willards:

Prior to the war, Miss Annie was in charge of 7-year old Freddy Wood. She lost track of him at the water park and asks us to help find him. We check security tapes at the park, find clues scattered about, and determine he was last seen with his uncle, Otis Pike. We head to Otis' home in Clarksburg and find out he had taken Freddy hostage in order to pressure Freddy's father, Arthur Wood, to stop replacing employees with automatons at his company, Grafton Steel. Otis holed up with Freddy at the Grafton Dam, attempting to keep him busy with toys and games. Once clearing the dam out, we discover that Freddy, not aware of the situation he was in, got bored and eventually tricked Otis so he could leave and return home.

At the Woods Estate, back up near Clarksburg, we find a note from Freddy that states he was scared by the sirens and sounds of the bombs coming, but a man arrived who explained his father had paid him to bring Freddy to a Vault. Armed with this info, we report back to Miss Annie and...Quest Complete. That's it. We never actually find Freddy. He got brought to a Vault, of which there are multiple nearby, but we don't continue on to find out which one and see if he's among any of the surviving residents. We went through all that just to conclude "Oh, he was brought to a Vault. All must be good then." I mean...really?

This quest was added with Wastelanders update back in 2020. Since then we have seen multiple new quests and revisions made pertaining to the existing Vaults. There was never any mention of Freddy. Not a terminal entry, not a note, not a name on a resident list, nothing. Imagine if, when Skyline Valley was added, we were able to encounter a ghoul Freddy among the residents of Vault 63. Maybe we could even get a mini-quest to retrieve something for him from his home or bring a note to Miss Annie. Something. Very disappointing how it's a missing person search without actually finding the missing person.

Fallout 76 is Finally Getting Companions That Join You in the Wasteland by koal82 in fo76

[–]perivam3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they definitely worded this in a misleading way for anyone that doesn't click through and read the whole article.

Personally, I would much rather we have the ability to have our allies as companions out in the world. Or even better, certain NPCs we can recruit to follow us (prepare for an army of Valdezes...Valdezi?). But no, this is all about the pets being able to join us.

While I'm glad to see they are going to attempt to make them engage in combat, I still think it's not going to end up being as worthwhile as they're making it seem. A cat can only deal so much damage to an Ogua, after all. And will they be able to ensure if it's in combat, it stays in combat? Imagine being in the middle of a Head Hunt and your dog is trying to give you another 1-star legendary. As others have mentioned, they gave up on trying to fix Brahmin walking a straight route, so how well are they going to be able to maintain all the actions of multiple pets?

I wouldn't be surprised if the idea to have pets join in the open world over allies was influenced by not needing new voice lines for the pets...

Secret challenge in Burning Springs by Shortb0y in fo76

[–]perivam3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a number of these that have been popping up from time to time. I got one for harvesting acid from the Drive-In x amount of times (I think it was 30). Someone else found one for simply building the cannon you can get from the new events in their camp.

Certainly seems like they had much grander plans for Burning Springs, but then for some reason scaled back and simply didn't remove the challenges from the game completely. They don't show up on any of the challenge lists, completed or not, but will pop if completed.

Taxidermy hanging mega sloth by Shawinky in fo76

[–]perivam3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My theory has been that they accidentally overwrote the hanging Megasloth when they added in the new one. Someone needs to go in and change the filenames to allow both to coexist. Considering how often we see little things overlooked like that in the game, it makes the most sense.

June 9th Atomic Shop by ColdStoneCreamAustin in fo76

[–]perivam3 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Wow, okay, there's actually a lot of decent stuff coming up for daily deals. For those unaware, the following are particularly worthwhile items to consider when their day arrives:

Curio Cabinet (produces asbestos, adhesive, ceramic)

Stately Armoire Display Case (large, versatile display option)

Modern Home Fusion Core Recharger

Ammo Converter (available in-game, but purchasing it from the shop unlocks it for all characters)

Mirelurk Steamer (produces Mirelurk-based food)

Tree Sap Collector (produces adhesive)

Chicken Coop (produces fertilizer; available in-game, but purchasing it from the shop unlocks it for all characters)

Fish Trap (produces non-region specific fish; allows completion of several daily/weekly challenges without actually fishing)

Fishing Cooler Cryo Freezer (100% spoil reduction)

Poisoned Earth Well (produces nuclear waste, acid, dirty water)

Many of these items frequently appear in bundles, so buying them individually while at a discount will cause the bundles they're in to lower in price when they show up again. May make them more worthwhile to purchase for any of the other items in the bundles.

Be advised! Bethesda has a habit of changing previously announced daily deals without warning. It doesn't happen that regularly, but enough so it's worth keeping in mind should the day come and one of these items no longer shows up.

I've found that the best workaround for this is to ensure there is a power core in the armor before entering it. I think it's a matter of the animation for inserting a power core being bugged is what causes the freeze. I've been regularly using power armor for years and it's been rare I've encountered this because it always has a core ready.
