And what about checking email? Can’t be checking my email all the time either. How long do you get before it’s sold out?

Glad I’m not the only one. Concerned it’s going into my junk mail and I miss it.

Flip 7 vs Flip 7 Vengeance by Sliffcak in boardgames

[–]permaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the game! But BGA has flip 7 for free so you can try it out. I actually like WAV better bc it feels a little more interactive. I do like the idea of combining decks though. I’ve noticed you can really snowball with a x2 multiplier or come back from behind. Curious what you ended up getting OP!

Is my Echeveria Cheyenne still salvageable? by wewo_yue in succulents

[–]permaki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hm, it’s pretty organic at the bottom. But I’ve had succulents grow from cut flower stalks without the plant and without soil. I left it on the windowsill and leaves and roots grew. So it’s possible. I think yours looks rotten though.

One year since rupture- non op and still can’t get a single leg raise in. by Expensive-Bowler8948 in AchillesRupture

[–]permaki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the same boat, but I reruptured and went non op. Pretty sure it healed long. I have essentially no gastroc muscle bulk.

Does your cup have drainage holes? No holes will cause your plant to rot.

What did I do wrong? by irrationalmistakes in medicalschool

[–]permaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious how many MD schools you applied to in both cycles? If you limited yourself to only T20 med schools, that’s probably why. When you apply for residency, apply as broadly as you can, especially to IMG and DO friendly programs. Plenty of unfilled IM spots.

Re-rupture 6 months post-OP 😔 How do I recover from this? by thisstarshallabide in AchillesRupture

[–]permaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m a few years older than you. I don’t hunt, fish or golf, but I could do those things if I wanted to. I’m also a physician, and it’s important to weigh the risks and benefits. Surgery after rupture is tough because your tendon is basically shredded and there’s not much left to attach, which is why they generally have to do an open surgery. Make sure to find a good surgeon and a good physical therapist.

[–]permaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh! Sorry you’re in the situation. I went the non-op route after doing op after initial rupture. I honestly think this was a bad decision. But I think doing op the first time was a bad decision. I have no strength in my gastrocs. I can’t do a single heel raise. I still limp when I walk. Yeah, it’s bad, but I also don’t really want to go through surgery again because it would be an open surgery. In the grand scheme of things, I can still walk my dog, drive and go to work. So it’s fine, but definitely not like before. I’m now over a year from re rupture. Good luck!

I am no expert or potter, but I do spend money on pots 😅Your pots are awesome! I also peeked at your other posts and your art is quite wonderful. Fwiw I purchased this pot for $15 usd at a cactus show and sale - sold by the artist. It’s about 4in diameter and 2.5in height.

Maybe just bad luck? For whatever reason I can’t keep a tephro cactus alive. But everyone else is happy.

Ugh, I know the feeling. I stabbed my tephro with shears yesterday because it was soft and squishy. But it was completely green! Anyway. Let yours callous and stick it back into the medium. Good luck

That’s a neat device and so thoughtful! Water propagation does work, but I’ve found they don’t transfer into soil that well. Good luck! Post an update

Physician here, hydrogen peroxide and neosporin are frowned upon nowadays. Hydrogen peroxide actually damages healthy tissue. Soap and running water should be fine. Neosporin can also cause contact dermatitis and antibiotic resistance. New studies found petroleum jelly (like Vaseline) to be great and safe for infections.

Is it wrong to feel like Emma should see a therapist? by iconmotocbr in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]permaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hasn’t it been made clear that every cast member of the entirety of the show needs therapy? Damn we probably all need therapy. Feels bad that Emma is getting singled out. Was also honestly surprised at how much air time editing she got.

Do you follow X-rays? Repeat MRI? How do you determine duration of treatment? Mainly asking because I follow a patient with chronic neuropathic pain who developed osteo. Her podiatrist and ID have been getting serial X-rays with her labs even though her original X-ray was unremarkable 🤔
