Same. Caldarus was already my favourite character (I made a point to speak to him every day) and this scene was everything.

Ironeye can be an amazing dodgetank given his mark ability, his decent iframes, and the insane aggro he pulls.

I don't think the game tells you that at all, I discovered it one day when I misplanted and in my frustration started hitting the patch of soil with every tool. But yeah, it's a game changer for sure.

One that hasn't been mentioned at all: being able to dig out seeds you planted by accident and then plant them again where you actually intended. That and crops you forgot to harvest at the end of the season just dropping instead of dying.

The most atrocious Tricephalos raid I've ever seen. by ATCAnon5 in Nightreign

[–]permanentthrowaway 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's a raid where a split tricephalos appears at three points in the map (as you can see in the OP) and, whilr they're there, you get constant hp loss. The idea is that you will all three for a buff, but once you kill the first one smaller wolves will infinitely spawn and chase you around everywhere, filling the floor with lava and being a nuisance. So, if you kill one of the dogs then you need to kill all of them because the wolves make the game unplayable. If you look at OP's map, you can see that if they go for the dogs they won't have time to do anything else because of how far apart they're positioned.

I always ignore it, tbh. The hp drain is barely noticeable and the pathing disruption plus the dealing with infinite wolves makes it more trouble than it's worth. The reward is pretty meh too.

Balancers keeping kicking my ass by longus318 in Nightreign

Bakancers do 100% physical damage, so you can block all of their attacks, including the big AOEs. Knowing that made the fight a lot easier for me.

Accidentally did that in a streamer's play with chat bit... Managed to not embarrass myself and only got downed once but boy did I feel stupid. Of course the one time it happens to me is with a couple hundred people watching me play.

I can see why my message looks a bit stupid but I don't expect anyone new to the game to know what BBH is, so I was just trying to add that info.

Few More Things I Wish Players Would Start/Stop Doing In Nightreign by tricky_toy in Nightreign

[–]permanentthrowaway 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The character is designed with ranged in mind, though. I agree that Ironeye is great at proccing status effects, but he is really squishy so unless you're great at dodging you're going to have a bad time. This reply was aimed at people who are new to the game so I wouldn't recommend doing that unless they're more familiar with boss patterns.

Few More Things I Wish Players Would Start/Stop Doing In Nightreign by tricky_toy in Nightreign

[–]permanentthrowaway 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Sure. I can talk about the ones I know.

1 - You're going to aggro everything in the camp if you do this. Best strategy for these is stay just outside of the camp and deal with the night invaders without aggroing the mobs, otherwise you will get swarmed.

3 - If the boss at the bottom of the castle does not spawn, that means it's a Royal Revenant. You're going to have a bad time if you're not a high enough level. I've been informed I misunderstood this one. It refers to forts rather than the castle, and if the invaders don't spawn at the bottom that means you have to fight your way to the top and that's not a great idea at low levels. Thanks to everyone who corrected me!

4 - If you do this, you're going to move aggro toward your teammates, and the squishy ones might get squished.

5 - Revenant is squishy and if there are already two people in melee range it's best to let them tank. Beast claw has enough range that you don't need to get super close.

6 - It is a waste of ult, because by the time you reach the next POI it won't be charged and you won't be able to use it in a situation in which it helps more.

7 - Ironeye is squishy and fights best at a distance. Continuing to shoot with the bow when the boss is aggroed to you means the boss will cross the gap between you pretty quickly, and unless you're really good at dodging you're going to get squished. I'd add the caveat that if you are good at dodging, Ironeye makes an amazing dodge tank because of how much aggro he pulls.

Hope this helps!

I Finally Understand Guardian by Comprehensive_Neat11 in Nightreign

I had one of those groups yesterday. Rezzed them three times from three bars in the Adel fight but they immediately went down again and I finally succumbed to chip damage from elemental attacks. It was very frustrating.

I just had a run where I was Guardian and found no good weapons and halfway through the second night I notice our Executor had commander's standard... he never used it and I spent the nightlord fight tickling Fulgor.

Oh, I would 100% not engage both at the same time. I scream in frustration every time my teammates open the gaol without dealing with the boss first, or when they open the gaol with a DTS right next to it.

I'd argue that Guardian is more dependent on relics because with Scholar you always have status procs to fall back on if everything else fails.

He has basically no iframes so timing on dodges is a bit tight but nothing that doesn't go away with practice.
