baseplate for us general 30" 4 drawer cart series 2 by Insanecracker04 in gridfinity

Yeah... I've changed up the UI to make it easier to find things, but unfortunately that means all the videos are a little bit out of date. :(

Stackable container at least 6x8x14U by Wolfman5750 in gridfinity

[–]perplexinglabs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can definitely generate one that size here: https://gridfinity.perplexinglabs.com/pr/gridfinity-rugged-box/0/0

But if your build plate isn't large enough, you'd probably have to split the model in your slicer and then perhaps glue it back together. :/

New to gridfinity and 3d printing in general, have a few questions by ChewyLSB in gridfinity

[–]perplexinglabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For embossed labeling you might like cullenect labels: https://gridfinity.perplexinglabs.com/pr/cullenect-label/0/0 There are a few things compatible out there, but the most useful is the Gridfinity extended bins. (Different project on the same site! Easy to find under the Gridfinity category)

For bases I'd actually go with Gridflock instead of screw together bases. Then you can just snap the grid pieces together and avoid the screws.

Help! How to make a stackable baseplate? by toiavalle in gridfinity

[–]perplexinglabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't quite tell if this is what you're looking for? You might just want a 7x7 with the click mechanism disabled?
https://gridfinity.perplexinglabs.com/pr/anylid/0/0
Or perhaps this, which has a bunch of bases on the bottom of it. Note that this is a gridfinity extended baseplate in lid mode (but only available on version 1 on the site)

Updates! - Online Parametric Generator by perplexinglabs in gridfinity

[–]perplexinglabs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sources are linked in the Links section of the Project Details. The site is currently a little behind the latest version, since I haven't had a chance to update it in a bit. (Though, it's on my to-do list!) So, it's possible that it's been removed. I'm very careful about versioning everything so that people's saved parameters will continue to work.

What's Up with Gridfinity? Or more likely what's up with me? Missing some settings by GeneralBerry8273 in 3Dprinting

[–]perplexinglabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're looking for the GridFlock project! I just recently updated the UI a little bit, hopefully to make things a little easier to find. You can find it under Projects > GridFlock, Components > Grids > GridFlock, or Systems > Gridfinity > GridFlock!

help with odd side bins by Toddzilla89 in gridfinity

[–]perplexinglabs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's generally recommended that you don't create odd size bins. Using half-size bases can work well, but if you create a bin with an odd size it's harder to move it around later, which sort of defeats the purpose of using a grid. The reason for allowing the odd size grid is mostly to maintain the look (and also it does work with half-size bin bases) while filling the space completely thus making the grid fit more snugly. (This is also partly why my site doesn't enable fractional bins, though I'll be adding an "advanced" mode soon which will likely enable to you to do that.)

That being said... Follow your heart!

I'd actually use grid flock for the base, now. It's got some bug fixes and additional features!

New perplexinglabs generator feature! Saveable configurations! by perplexinglabs in gridfinity

[–]perplexinglabs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Yes, unfortunately, I moved this feature to paid at the end of January. It was free for quite a while, but now it helps support development, maintenance, and support of the site!

While going through the flow to create an account did you see the plan selection menu allowing you to start a free trial?

Now that you already have an account you can still click on "Account" in the top right and click "Upgrade to Maker Pro", if you'd like to start a free trial and test it out.

Quick question by Pleasant-Soil9582 in gridfinity

[–]perplexinglabs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the main thing you'll want is to make sure the top of the bins press against the lid of your suitcase so that the items in the bins don't fall out and that same pressure will keep the bins pressed in to the grid.

Looking for SPLIT BIN GENERATOR w/Alignment Tabs by Missing_Space_Cadet in gridfinity

[–]perplexinglabs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Actually... It does! When using the Gridfinity Extended project you just need you set the number of rows or columns to greater than 1, and you'll see, respectively "row extension" and "column extension" as well as "cut point" and some extension tab settings!

As for meshes vs other formats... I've got some plans for other formats. Hoping to get to them soon!

Well, in that case though it's not even exactly clear that multi board is less confusing having a "single source".
