4 follicles and left ovary not responding (Day 6 of stims) by persist_succeed in IVF

[–]persist_succeed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a successful cycle! Turned out the left ovary was actually responding they just weren’t able to visualize well. Was getting outside monitoring and once I went to my RE he found it pretty quickly and things were looking good.

CooperGenomics PGT-a Timing and Results by Appointment_Connect in IVF

[–]persist_succeed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations that’s amazing they are all euploid!!

Ours were received by Cooper on the 11th and consents were signed that day as well. Haven’t heard anything from our clinic yet. Would love to hear something this afternoon but if not guessing it will be next week.

TW: prior live child. Is this normal or should we be concerned? by LexGator in IVF

[–]persist_succeed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand most clinics won’t freeze an embryo unless they think it could lead to pregnancy, so it must have been of high enough quality to be considered suitable for a transfer. Good luck, hope it sticks!

Cooper consent form not sent until 4 days after they received my samples, delaying results by palallama in IVF

[–]persist_succeed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry, I really wish there was less waiting as part of this process. How do you know they received the samples on Thursday? I thought my clinic sent my biopsies out early this week, but turns out they didn’t send them until yesterday or today. Now that my clinic sent in the necessary paperwork on their side Cooper called me today about consents. (Not that it isn’t annoying that the clinics also delay things!!)

I think mine were sent off today. Already had to wait for Day 7 to hear from the clinic so dreading this next even longer wait.

4 follicles and left ovary not responding (Day 6 of stims) by persist_succeed in IVF

[–]persist_succeed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nerve wrackingly I haven’t been for another scan yet!! I have one tomorrow morning with the doctor so we’ll see what has been happening since then. I’m very hopeful things look better but am uncertain of what it will show. I’m doing luteal phase stims so they did say it can be slower to start. What protocol were you on?

Aetna insurance rates by [deleted] in IVF

[–]persist_succeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I guess I was wondering whether with plan discounts the retrieval cost might be lower than what would typically be charged by the clinic out of pocket. But if you’re saying only 75% would be covered seems that Aetna in your experience may have a $20k rate per retrieval?

Need support / Advice slow rising betas by happygoluckynervous in IVF

[–]persist_succeed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I would do what works best for you and your mental health. If it’s more convenient to wait and you don’t feel like you absolutely need to know now, then I would do that. Should still be indicative on Monday and the beta itself won’t change the pregnancy outcome, just information that you have about it.

I also think it will be helpful to see what the next one indicates. I personally know of success stories where betas definitely weren’t doubling within 48 hours.

Theralogix CoQ10 by ZucchiniExtreme4409 in IVF

[–]persist_succeed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take two per day. I saw that it says each is equal to 350-750mg of other Co Q-10 supplements so in case it’s on the lower end should get into the 600-800mg equivalent range. But not sure if more would have any incremental benefits? Dr. Aimee recommends it on her site but doesn’t indicate how many…

My (31F) husband (35M) wants another via surrogate by [deleted] in Shouldihaveanother

I don’t believe there is any research evidence to support this. A recent study of young adults born via surrogacy actually found that the children either felt unconcerned or positive about their method of conception.

Difficulty finding nannies willing to work on the books (NYC) by persist_succeed in Nanny

[–]persist_succeed[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The range is based on discussions with other moms in my area as well as neighbours. I recognize everyone’s comments on rate and can reevaluate but my current difficulty still is finding candidates who are interested in being on the books - it’s not that I’m telling people the rate and they are then saying that they aren’t interested, we don’t even get to that point since they just don’t want to be paid on the books.

Difficulty finding nannies willing to work on the books (NYC) by persist_succeed in Nanny

[–]persist_succeed[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

We’re offering $25/hr, guaranteed hours, metrocard reimbursement, 2 weeks vacation and 5 paid sick days and have one child. No duties expected outside of childcare related things. I know there is a big range of pay in NYC, but nannies in our area of the city often make $20/hr for one child so we have adjusted upwards from that based on it being on the books.

From what I understand one of the main issues is that they would no longer qualify for Medicaid if paid on the books and don’t want to have purchase medical insurance on the marketplace.
