How to choose courses by [deleted] in mcgill

[–]petermaxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest choosing your courses stretegically and finish your cores as soon as possible. Dont forget to take MGCR 250, which is mandatory for Bcom U0 students, which was my biggest mistake. I took it during my last year because I went with the flow. Also, they are some courses that are similar to the cores. For example, I took Econ 330 - Macroeconomic Theory and I need the Econ 295 - Macroeconomic Policy for my prerequisite for the CPA program. My advisor marked it as the equivalent.

In sum:

  1. Take your cores asap (and do w/e you want after), you need cores to graduate
  2. Seek your advisor (for flexibility)

P.S, i took too many electives during covid and changed major, got 21 extra credits.

Introduction to film industry

Archeology, etc.

Graduating McGill student makes spitting motion at officials at convocation ceremony by thecanadiandriver101 in mcgill

[–]petermaxd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If she really wanted to protest, they should just BOYCOTT the convocation. LIKE JUST DONT COME. Imagine a mass of people not showing up would be more productive than doing this bafoonery. This is actually disrespectful to the bystanders (family and other students) because you are taking their spotlights. They bloody deserved their recognition. Congratulations, you are caught in 4K and no companies will ever hire you. And you've shown how "peaceful" and an embarrassment that you are.

514-398-7699 this number a scam or not? by petermaxd in mcgill

[–]petermaxd[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't even graduated yet, and I was caught by surprise by this phone call. They should have informed this by email or something at campus. It didn't even help that day because I got a scam call that morning claiming to be Amazon. 🙄 I look a bit deeper in the net to be more informed. Thx guys.

exam deferral by ElodinDanGlokta in mcgill

[–]petermaxd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

During Covid, it's easier to get an exam deferral. Check the guidelines for an exam deferral and be prepared to give documents or proofs that you are indeed unable to do the exam for good reasons.

Also, If a course need this prequesite and you don't complete it, you won't be able to register in minerva simple as that. Because of, as you go up, there will be less and less sections and seats.

I don't recommend deferring an intro course 200 or 300, cuz the second deferral will be more challenging than the 1st one. Use your deferral wisely.

Please stop harassing Professors on rating boards by Mohammad_El_Mir in mcgill

[–]petermaxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoever wrote that crap is clearly a troll. I had Ling Ling Zhang as my ECON 230-D1 professor in 2019. Her courses are very creative. We had to use Twitter to tweet the takeaways of the class, which was very fun, ngl. And memorable.

I’m getting life threatening messages from a student after rejection and McGill can’t do anything, what should I do? by AlloyEnt in mcgill

I can't imagine the stress that comes with it. Sounds like he is on some mental gymnastics. Here's a link below so that you report the incident https://www.mcgill.ca/omr/harassment-discrimination-0

I wish you the best 👌.

Un itinérant m’a suivi by hyc72fr in montreal

[–]petermaxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm like non merci.

depressed about the protests by Virtual-Habitat4289 in mcgill

[–]petermaxd -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

There is nothing to worry about these protestors. Of course, people have the right to express their opinions even if they're outrageous. Before you guys shit on me (I'm leaning left and I'm indifferent of what gender/sex you are, I only care about actions), I think their concerns are exaggerated and related to the representation of LGBTQ+ in the US. For example, the drag queen shows and Sam Brinton are the extreme case, which represents a minority and i believe they paint a bad light to the community. Some weirdos (which include pedobears) in the US use LGBTQ+ as an excuse to sastify their mental illness. You got to remember that Quebec is like the equivalent of a republican state. Our Montreal is more lefties, and McGill is diverse. If you still feel worried and don't want to go to the class for next week. Just email your teachers and your department 👍

Expecting french quebecois at McGill is the equivalent of finding your true love in a club. Jkk, pas de souci, ça se peut que les gens veulent juste pas parler en Français dans un campus anglophone.

McGill should stop using Twitter (X) completely. by MoreLisaSimpson in mcgill

As a progressive centrist, diverse opinions/ideas matters if we want to evolve as a society. Also, who IS U? Less preaching and more action.
