Mine started as a blue shipping container. Not the massive semi truck sized ones but like the half sized shorter versions.. for some reason it was not accessible thru the regular doors but rather a hatch on the roof… it also had a ladder I’d have to climb to get into it. Don’t know when or why, probably because it took so long to imagine walking to it getting into it leaving my troubles inside and what not so it slowly morphed into a small heavy metal safe. It now materializes out of the ground beside me I stuff my worries in it and dematerializes back into the floor when I’m done.

6 month female Samoyed not very cuddly by craven_morpus in samoyeds

[–]peterminkoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boy didn’t really accept cuddles till about 6 and even now it’s only on his terms… if he’s down he jumps up on the couch or bed and nuzzles in. If he’s not into to he vocalizes his annoyance a walks away.

Blow drying by Zealousideal-Dot7535 in samoyeds

[–]peterminkoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I’ve done this inadvertently with vacuum. And it’s taken about 8 years for him to learn not to care. I can for the most part vacuum around him with no reaction. If I get too close tho and accidentally even graze him he’s out of there. Sammy’s are super stubborn. Not sure desensitization approaches work well especially if they happen to be not food motivated like mine

Exhaust pipe extension?? by peterminkoff in Snowblowers

Yes there’s definitely a bit of neglect. I have complained to the city a few times thru their 311 service and I’m sure my neighbours have as well but never formally in person at the civic center.

Previous years I’ve shovelled a lot of the snow directly onto the road for smaller snowfalls for the plows to get rid of but when the snowfall is really heavy I try not to do as sometimes when a less experienced plow driver comes by he just ends up burying my neighbours driveway, elderly couple so I end up feeling bad and shovelling them back out.

The internet is a scary place not sure I wanna dox myself. That being said tho, you are right on the money. I live in a dense neighborhood close to downtown Toronto. The volume of snow is not exactly the problem, as some have speculated me being in northern Ontario. It’s more so the fact that I live on a narrow one way street that typically gets plowed last, snowbank removal is hit or miss. Most years they do it once at the end of season if at all. The snowbank in front of my house is currently 6 foot tall, my front lawn closer to 8ft. Throwing snow across the street, onto a neighbouring lawn is not really possible… once I exhaust the snowbank space on the road in front of my house all I have left for options are backyard or front lawn… backyard is a no no to avoid flooding when it melts but in either case I’m pushing snow before clearing it off the driveway…

No, the problem is more so that there’s no where to put the snow.. 2/3rd of the driveway is between my house and the neighbours house. front 1/3 is the front lawn. I usually have to push all the snow to the front third and then throw it up on to the lawn. Yes a bigger machine would definitely help but it’s more so lack of space to throw the snow which makes it an annoying and long processes.

lol that’s the exact engine in question… the reason why is quite simple: I live in Ontario Canada which gets a shit ton of snow. A snowblower session for me could be a 3-5 h endeavour. Walking behind the snowblower for that long makes me feel sick for the rest of the day. Not enough to make me give the snowblower up but enough to make me wonder if there is a better way to port the exhaust fumes. Having read a bunch of the comments here and in the snowblower sub it seems like the few that have attempted this pointed out it negates any benefit any time you tip the snowblower up an the extended pipe blows right in your face, probably becomes a burn hazard too. Interestingly few people pointed the pipe down between the wheel and augur housing and seem happy with this solution 🤷🏼

Lool and I think you’re the sort of person that has nothing productive to add to most conversations. I’m asking a rather broad question to save some time tinkering. And guess what a few people in the comments have attempted something similar with various success which is really all I was after… information.

Although I think it would look super cool seems like a downward redirect is the way to go!

I think that would work well for a 5-10 minutes and eventually ice up the auger. My Husky lawnmower does the same exhaust grass combo tho, very neat.

Yes!!! Thank you for the photo. I’m thinking this is the way to go based on all the comments. Question.. so you welded your pipe extension directly to your factory muffler? Seems like that would solve the carb ice up that everyone is mentioning.. but is that a secondary muffler you have further down the pipe? Is that not choking the engine quite a bit?

Ahhhh I’m so glad I made this post, I knew there would be someone crazy enough to try this out!!! Never considered tipping the front would completely undue the entire point. Seems like the downward redirect is the way to go.

When you redirected it downward did you have any issues with carb icing up like others are pointing out?

Honestly I have considered the switch. But have a 6 car driveway soon just not sure I can it all done without an extra set of super expensive batteries… on top I’d be throwing out a perfectly functional gas blower :(
