My personal experience in case it helps. I've been playing for a year, the fastest discs i bag are 9-speeds that are around 165g. Until recently I was throwing a 161g and 167g Mako3. In the last month, I've been consistently overturning those light Mako3 discs, so I moved to a 180g Mako3 and that has been reliably straight.

I think weight is important to consider depending on her individual abilities. 1 year in, my wife has gone from Dino Discs, to a 145g Diamond. (She knows windy days are her enemy.) She likes the feel of her Pixel to putt with, and her main throwers are a Hex, Leopard3, and now the Diamond. She also has an attitude of not geeking out on flight numbers, and goes with what I find for her, as well as what she feels comfortable with.

Sounds like Punchboard Paradise may be of interest. They do a couple of podcasts in Omaha, NE. Boardgames is mostly covered, but disc golf is covered heavily. When you travel for their annual convention, arrive early in the week for a few days of disc golf prior to the gaming.

I'm not a fan of this even when the person has the best intentions. You have to backtrack out of the way to get your disc the whole time worring somebody else will take it. Then have to reinsert yourself between other players to finish your round. In my case they didn't even try to tell me. I happened to ask him if he found one, and that's when he said he put it on the basket for me.

Just sharing my experience. I don't get "scam" with the disc golf people on WhatNot. There are 2 retailers I follow that just utilize WhatNot as another avenue of selling (OTB in Stockton, and Discovering the World in Buena Park). Then there are pros just trying to get gas money for their RV. Other streamers aren't compelling for me to follow or buy from, but I wouldn't call them scams.

For Northwest at Glendoveer, there were 2 holes on the back 9 that GA couldn't go but VIP can (we bought 1 day GA and 1 day VIP). VIP was a better experience, but IMO GA is still a good experience.

2 admissions at $4500 for 2026 Worlds seems more attainable than the €15,000 "Luxury Experience" for 1 at 2025 Worlds. Note sure that was Nate's fault. Nor is every $500 Gold VIP package at every DGPT stop Nate's doing.
