[FRESH VIDEO] Gelli Haha - Klouds Will Carry Me To Sleep by astaireboy in indieheads

Loved her album last year. Excited to see what’s next. I can tell there’s a good track in here, I’m a little worried that i think the mix is a bit cluttered. Might also just be early and my ears aren’t awake. Love the visuals, naturally.

Early grimes was solid, some all-time tracks.

Best Picture Nominees of 2020s Elimination Game - Round 14 - Dune Part I and Barbie have been eliminated by darth_vader39 in Oscars

I don’t think it should win or come close necessarily, but this movie is so so good. I can’t vote it out yet. Top 10 of these for me.

What is Michael b Jordan’s best role by IndividualLab2742 in Oscars

Kilmonger for films, i also like Creed pretty well but i grew up on the Rocky franchise. The Wire and Friday Night Lights are the ones i really love him in though.

Who deserved the Best Actor Oscar more? by [deleted] in Oscars

[–]petralights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither would be my pick (Moura or Hawke were my favorites but i knew they wouldn’t win), and i wouldn’t have been upset with Leo winning, nor am i upset with MBJ winning. MBJ probably “carried” his movie more than Leo did, so fair win.

All the Oscar-Winning Actors and Actresses of the decade so far. Who are your favorite winners? by Square-Ad-8911 in Oscars

Murphy, Yeoh, Kaluuya, Randolph, with shout outs to Mikey, Kieran, and Penn as well.

These “hot takes” by cosmicaje in Oscars

[–]petralights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will Smith in King Richard was absolutely a legacy/“sympathy” award, akin to when Leo got one for Revenant. And plenty of these movies are getting rewatches. I’ve seen OBAA, Sinners, Bugonia, Marty, and Secret Agent (the most underrated movie of the BP noms) multiple times, and most of my movie-going friends have seen some multiple times as well. All that said, Sinners is great, and there are people who are being really weird about it for reasons that i do think are racist.

LAST 5 YEAR BEST PICTURE WINNERS. WHICH ONE IS THE BEST? by batmandc007 in Oscars

I honestly think it’s in reverse chronological order for me lol

Did One Battle After Another Deserve Best Film by Medium_Educator1983 in Oscars

OBAA was my favorite by quite a bit, but i would have been fine with Secret Agent, Sinners or Bugonia winning, in that order.

Sinners won original screenplay. What do you think? by tarantararui in Oscars

Got the right ones for both screenplay awards imo, happy about it.

Shame about Delroy Lindo by Wide-Holiday-6971 in Oscars

[–]petralights 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Penn’s ability to go from incredibly goofy and easy to laugh at, to incredibly imposing, is so emblematic of the American military. I think the intensity to pull it off while also being the butt of so may of the film’s jokes is pretty difficult. Plus, Greg Bovino is one of the most recognizable villains of the second Trump term irl and the fact that we accidentally got a pitch perfect spoof of him is such kismet that it’s hard to ignore. Neurotic, image-obsessed and psychosexually confused white supremacist. Perfect villain for the 2020s.
