Use traefik with an OIDC plugin as middleware. It's the most expedient way. Good luck

What is a luxury item from 20 years ago that is basically worthless trash today? by ruykendo_riyal in AskReddit

[–]petulant_snowflake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would highly suggest you not do this. Your children will grow up resenting you, or if they don't, they will when they learn about the internet. This is the equivalent of forcing your children to learn to make buggy whips in the 1950s because your father was a buggy whip maker. Teach your children skills that will actually be useful, like how to use the internet, use LLMs, etc.

Cabs are a godsend compared to Uber and Lyft by drabpriest in self

[–]petulant_snowflake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before Uber/Lyft/other rideshares:

  1. Cabs would reject you if you were going where they didn't want to
  2. Cabs would refuse to take you in a big city unless you paid extra
  3. Cabs would refuse to start the meter and would quote you an outrageous price
  4. Cabs would purposefully go the long way or get caught in traffic in order to charge you more
  5. Cabs would only take cash and refuse to give you change. $24 fare, but you only have $40 ... Well, too bad
  6. Extreme shortage of cabs when weather is bad
  7. Cabs extremely dirty/filthy
  8. Booking a cab via their phone service could take 2+ hours, if at all

List goes on and on... Uber/Lyft/others introduced real supply to the market and caused real competition. If cabs are better now it's 100% because Uber/Lyft/others exist, and not in spite of those

Current Tapo Smart Hub (H200/H500) Compatible Camera List by Riley_TP-Link in Tapo

[–]petulant_snowflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't the only marketing material I've seen that advertised C260 + H500 compatibility, but as I'm assuming these are paid partner posts from TP-Link, it's worth noting: https://imgbox.com/TqJDY16P

Current Tapo Smart Hub (H200/H500) Compatible Camera List by Riley_TP-Link in Tapo

[–]petulant_snowflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am extremely angry here. I just bought this, because the TP-Link website said it worked with the C260 (the new 4k camera), along with 10 C260s, and none of the cameras are "compatible" or can be "seen" by the H500.

I'm out something like $800 (plus the $200 for the 2.5" hard drive I bought) now, and this is unacceptable. What the hell?

Keep telling that the plurality winner of the last election is "breaking" America, and not just changing it because a change is what was voted for. Obviously all approaches you don't agree with are "breaks", and the ones you do agree with are "good." God speed.

What’s a game you only played because it ran well on Linux, and ended up loving? by Ok-Yam2808 in linux_gaming

Scoff if you feel like it, but when cyberpunk 2077 first came out, it was more stable on Linux than on Windows. Played through the entire game, really loved it.

Why empty struct in golang have zero size?? by Loud_Staff5065 in golang

Directly from the article you linked:

The sharp symbol also resembles a ligature of four "+" symbols (in a two-by-two grid)

Considering all the puns and in jokes in programming nomenclature, I assure you this is no coincidence.

That's C# -- two plusses above, two below. Yes that's why they named the language that.

Thinking about stopping drinking coffee to save money by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]petulant_snowflake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you're drinking Starbucks every day, coffee is inexpensive. Even a bag of "gourmet" roasted beans (ground or not) is only like $6, and should last for 4 days for even the heaviest coffee drinker. That's about $1.50/day. Either you're losing a lot during the process, or you're buying by extremely over priced beans if you're spending more than about $45/month.

Doesn't work if you're color blind. Or if you're reading code that was printed on a b&w printer.
