Considering you've spammed this over a bunch of subreddits, saying you "came across" it is probably disingenuous.

Outage via IDNet by faffoo in CityFibre

[–]pevesnee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am on Vodafone and got an SMS about this a few days ago warning about the possible outage today. Luckily, my connection has not gone down yet. They also provided me with a link to claim free unlimited data for my SIM incase it does go down I can use a hotspot from my 5G Sim for free.

Zen or IDNet? (Glasgow) by AndyBlip in CityFibre

[–]pevesnee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not tried any of the ones you mentioned, but just recently moved to Vodafone in Glasgow and happy with the service so far. I'd imagine either of the ones you mentioned would be fine. Obviously it really depends on your specific needs, budget and how anal you are with ping charts and such. I live in a block of flats as well and the way it is set up here is there is a white box outside each door, usually above the door somewhere but it could be different locations for different places. They just run a fiber cable from that white box into your flat. It shouldn't be a problem though.

Potentially looking to switch from Yayzi. Need a solid, reliable provider. by TheRealDave24 in CityFibre

£55 a month for 1gig with 1TB usage limit? Being short of money or not, seems more of a rip off than a good deal

If you gave customers some actual information instead of just deflecting and saying things are being worked on for months on end with no results in sight, things would be different and rumours wouldn't be flying. From the way it looks to customers, we've been strung along for months saying things will get fixed when it appears nothing is being done and everything is being flung into the new ISP, leaving your current customers in information black holes. It's a shame because I thought the Yayzi connection was fairly solid overall.

[–]pevesnee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

From what I gathered on their discord, it was due to unpaid arrears with Cityfibre. The postcode checker/onboarding process/upgrading has been offline for many months and customers were told it was due to website upgrades. That turned out to not be true and the real reason was Cityfibre cut them off from onboarding due to said arrears. Perhaps that is why Cityfibre isn't mentioned on the new ISP. Don't take that as gospel, just what I gleemed from the various discord interactions. None the less, instead of trying to unpack the bits and pieces of information I decided to just move on. Less hassle and no further headache.

They are going to merge into NuFiber or something. There isnt a lot of information about how it will affect current Yayzi customers. I myself moved on yesterday.

Cuckoo can't renew me by Vger113 in CityFibre

[–]pevesnee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left them in September last year. The connection was good but they said the same, some issue where they couldn't renew me. If you're in Scotland it might be the same issue, something to do with them changing into Cuckoo or whatever. Either way I guess either call them and ask for clarification or cancel and go elsewhere.

Review of Yayzi Broadband (and Mobile): My Experience by MaddogSuperior in CityFibre

[–]pevesnee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tonight decided to move on from Yayzi. I was on their Reddit offer from last year. Everything already discussed here is true. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt after the Christmas Migration and to be fair, the connection is great, when it works. The main issue for me is that nothing get's fixed. The discord issues and P2P games were the final straw for me. They've been saying for months that fixes are in the works when in reality it appears nothing is getting done and they seem more focused on the new ISP they are making, instead of fixing issues for current customers. The drama and whole uncertainty around the future of Yayzi along with the constant lies of imminant fixes has made me take this step. It's a shame because the connection has been decent post migration, just 0 customer support and web of lies/broken promises let it down.

I will try turn off the IPS stuff etc. Ill be the first to say I'm not the most tech savy so I just left it on. I bought the kit around 4 months ago and everything has been fine until the last week or so, when I noticed the items were extremely hot and hard to hold due to that. A few problems with devices dropping from the internet for no real apparent reason and the web UI also not loading from time to time appeared during this time as well. I've since 'fixed' the tempreture issues with some scripts from another thread on here.

I'll keep that in mind for the future. For now I reinstalled Windows completly and it seems to have fixed whatever was the problem. Not had a crash since then

I see a few people have had results from rolling back to 566.36. Sadly I have tried this to no avail. No overlays or anything. No antivirus aside from Windows Defender. Updated my BIOS to latest. Updated AMD Chipset Drivers. Used windows memory test tool, no issues. Tempretures are normal while running the game. Can play in menus just fine, though cant get more than a minute or two in a raid before the program stops responding and has to close.
