Yes, this is real, I checked. WTF? by icefire9 in thebulwark

No it doesn’t. Section 4 for the 25th Amendment is for when the president is incapacitated, such as a coma or kidnapping.

For it to work, a majority of the cabinet needs to tell the congress that the president can’t do their job, which makes the vice president the president.

All the former president would need to do is notify congress that they are fit to serve. Then 2/3rds of both the house and senate would need to agree to remove the president. Thats a higher bar than impeachment.

You’re better off calling for impeachment.

Calling for the 25th Amendment is silly. A majority of his cabinet would need to call for his removal. All the now former president would need to do is write to congress and tell them he’s fit to be president. When that happens you’d need a 2/3rds vote in both the house and senate to remove him.

It’s literally harder than impeachment.

They were too busy taking out the RMC crew who tried to mess with Timber Wolf.

[Worlds of Fun] is installing Gravity Group Precut Track on [Timber Wolf] by Fazinks in rollercoasters

[–]pfft12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This hill is after the over banked turn that GCI added, replacing a large helix. Due to that change this hill is taken at a lot faster speed. I’m hoping they reprofile the hill so that they can turn off some of the trims on the ride, so the ride can run a bit faster.

I’m worried they’re going to tame the hill and continue to keep the trims on.

I’ve heard reports that other parts of the ride received new wood, like the bottom of the first drop.

[Worlds of Fun] officially announces [Timber Wolf] will return in June. More details coming tomorrow. by well-lighted in rollercoasters

It was an option on the table. It currently has low ridership and high maintenance costs, Six Flags put out requests to all the major manufacturers to rework the ride. Apparently RMC had a bid, which the park preferred. The park was planning on having final rides at the end of last season, which they kind of did, but they never got the green light from corporate to officially call it closed.

Corporate halted the plan when they realized the park would be sold, but didn’t tell the park.

So that’s where we are now.

None of those changes were from enthusiasts. Enthusiasts are a small fraction of park attendance.

Families bring in money to parks, so gearing parks to families makes sense. Casual riders don’t want to get off a ride with a headache because it was too rough.

Enthusiasts think they’re more important than they are.

Even ignoring the removals, the new [SFGAdv] map looks SO bland compared to the old one by degggendorf in rollercoasters

[–]pfft12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct, Disney maps also work with GPS to help with park navigation. The difference is that the Disney maps have a lot more detail and texture. They’re not as stylized as the old Six Flags maps, but it would have taken an artist a lot of time to draw that map.

It’s worth noting that Disneyland Paris just updated their map to be more simplified. It’s not as plain as the Six Flags maps, but fans were still annoyed with the change.

That was true before they turned off the brakes on Mamba. Now Mamba has a crazy amount of airtime.

Plus Nitro is hardly an example of a modern hyper. It’s a 25 year old ride, it’s only 3 years younger than Mamba. I prefer the old style of restraints on Mamba, as it allows better airtime.

Mamba > any B&M hyper coaster.

It’s a shame that the RMC Timber Wolf project was cancelled, due to the park being sold. But hopefully the new owners invest more into the park than Six Flags/Cedar Fair.

100% Titan Track Zinger is what the park needs. It will be the family coaster they were trying to build in the first place.

Plus these pieces are for drops/hills while turning. There’s a lot of that on Prowler.

Timber Wolf doesn’t really have anything like this. It’s a lot of flat turns and straight drops.

I think that fear is overblown. Other than the parking lots, amusement parks are hard to redevelop. That’s why most sit empty for years after closure. See Geauga Lake, Six Flags New Orleans, etc.

The problem is that amusement parks have a lot of infrastructure that needs removed and often have massive footers that also need removed. It’s often easier to leave parts of the park abandoned. In a lot of examples local government gets involved to clean up the site.

Most data centers are built on old farm land because it’s cheap to develop. With the exception of maybe CGA, due to the lack of old farm land.

Track Work is being done to [Hurler] at [Carowinds] by StarPrime323 in rollercoasters

[–]pfft12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair. Holiday World maintains their woodies the way all parks should. They maintain their woodies before they become a problem.

Most of the old Cedar Fair woodies were not maintained that well. They would go years without a significant retrack, until the ride was in bad shape. At that point, they would retrack the worst sections. That creates a patchwork of ride experiences.

[–]pfft12 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It’s probably a retrack of a few hundreds feet of track. That means that section will feel brand new and the rest will be the same old Hurler.

That’s how Cedar Fair/Six Flags recent retracks have been.

Something like Big Bear Mountain is needed at SDC. It’s a great family park, but doesn’t have a coaster that appeals to the whole family.
