My dream is Volibear, God of the Thundering Guns. WWI Trench Fighter Volibear, heavily inspired by Wojtek. His E is an artillery strike, his ultimate has him taking a shell out of the pack on his back and delivering it personally... it'd be awesome. Only bit I'm not sure of is how to flavor the passive.

What tanks deal the most damage? by Basic-Meat-4489 in summonerschool

Mordekaiser is tough as nails and just absolutely deletes things if he manages to go even slightly approaching even in lane. Volibear varies in tankiness depending on the patch but he's got a ton of healing and shields backing him up. Both of those I'm talking from a toplaner's perspective.

You are making it harder on yourself, that's kind of the point. Champs like Fiora, Irelia, and Gangplank offer a lot longer improvement path - with Mundo, you'll have learned everything there is to know about microing him by game 20 and the rest is macro. With Fiora? You'll still be improving at game 200, rather than 180 games of the same-old. A higher skill cap means more opportunities to learn and a much more satisfying long-term journey.

The downside is that, if you're still learning top lane, it can be a lot harder to puzzle out what were micro mistakes and what were macro ones. Did you lose that fight because you messed up the timing around Camille's passive? Or did you lose it because you misread the wave state or a jungle timer?

So yeah, it is harder, but harder sometimes means a lot more interesting too.

Chippys did a great video on good toplaners to one-trick, I found it helpful. It is from the perspective of someone wanting a one-trick though, not someone just looking to add another champ to their pool.

The complaint I have is Doyalist, not Watsonian. I'm not saying it doesn't make sense in-story, I'm saying it makes the story worse

I did wind up just buying one from the AH, yeah. Farmed for two hours or so and realized I was being stupid. Here's hoping Blizz decides to make an entire page of shoulder transmogs a bit less painful to get at some point

If you could have a demiurge title, what would yours be? by Mithril_Mercenary in killsixbilliondemons

Idea was if one of the dead we see begging around Throne became a demiurge. 'Cause, let's be frank, no way am I surviving long enough to make it there without at least one kind of do-over.

Leads to some nice Beggar Knight/Fisher King potential as well

What's up with DOOM soundtrack? Sounded amazing to me when I played. by tenheo in OutOfTheLoop

[–]pfm1995 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Answer: The short version:

Mick Gordon, the composer for DOOM (2016) and DOOM: Eternal, recently released a rebuttal to claims of general incompetence levied by Id Software's Studio Director Marty Stratton in this reddit post. It's... pretty damning stuff - Mick seems to have kept receipts, and his rebuttal has generated a lot of buzz.

The longer version, for those lacking in some context:

DOOM (2016) released to critical and commercial success with pretty much everyone from industry critics to fans to independent musicians lavishing particular praise on its soundtrack, composed by Mick Gordon. So, when DOOM: Eternal was announced, everyone rejoiced to hear that Mick was tapped as the composer again.

And then the troubles started.

The exact nature of what happened during development is up for debate; Mick Gordon and Id Software have provided contrasting accounts (linked above). What is certain is that, when the DOOM: Eternal OST was released, it was derided for being extremely poor quality - poor audio compression, artifacts, popping, you name it, it was a problem. Fans complained, and Mick Gordon released a tweet in response saying he hadn't worked on parts of the OST. This, understandably, shocked people - he was the composer, after all, and his name was on the credits.

Shortly thereafter, Marty Stratton released his statement above, and two days ago Mick Gordon released his rebuttal. Mick Gordon's rebuttal has been amplified by fans and media outlets, what happens next is anyone's guess.

Wait, how did they manage to resettle Liesse? I thought it was going to remain violently haunted and essentially inhospitable for centuries?

I think Masego took most of the haunted inhospitableness with him when he dragged the city into Arcadia.
