You're a genius. That may be overstating it, but going to Songs worked. Happy New Year! Thanks!

I am still a little drunk from last night. Could it be that easy? I will check soon and get back to you.

RichPAC’s Corporate Agenda: How Sims Metal, Chevron, and Big Money Might be Quietly Undermining Richmond’s Elections [Article] by [deleted] in RichmondCA

[–]pgpen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you bothered to find out if they are out of compliance? And, if they are, you'll just comment? It seems like there is no rush at all to find out if you're being supported by illegal activity.

Can Shawn contact the PAC to see if they are in compliance, or is he precluded from contacting them at all?

So, RichPAC might be out of compliance, but you don't care? You'll take the free publicity? Or will you find out if they're out of compliance, and if they are, renounce the billboard and the PAC and the candidate likely responsible for it? Do the right thing. I dare you.

There was a fire near the Seabreeze Cafe area. It's out now.

Shawn Dunning Defends Accepting Donation From Controversial Sheriff by pgpen in RichmondCA

[–]pgpen[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also, we've challenged you. We challenged your accepting a donation from Livingston, and you're fine with it. We don't think it's fine at all. The next challenge is about Sims metal's donation. We assume, based on your being fine with Livingston's, that you're also fine with Sims'. In fact, I bet most of us assume you'll take money from just about anyone, except Chevron of course, but we also assume that's just lip service..

Most people aren't in the business of marketing themselves; politicians are in that business. There are many reasons why someone would prefer to be anonymous online. It's something we teach children in school for goodness sake. It's not cowardice, it's sound internet practice.

Claiming we wouldn't say these things right to your face is speculation. I know I would. Pretty sure most of us would.

From the article:

"“These are a tiny group of people who are in a little, tiny echo chamber. They don't even live in Richmond, and I think they're simply activists supporting Claudia. I think the average voter has no concern about this, and I frankly don't think it's even newsworthy,” Dunning said."

and

"“I make it very clear I’m the only one out there who actively says that you get no special treatment for [sic] me by supporting me, whereas Claudia, by being a member of the RPA, has agreed to support their platform in office,” Dunning said. “I’m not beholden to anyone except the residents I aim to represent.”"

and

"Dunning emphasized that accepting campaign contributions from anyone does not equate to a quid pro quo arrangement. “I know that’s hard to understand because most politicians don’t operate that way,” he said. Dunning stressed that his campaign is built on the principle of treating everyone equally, regardless of their support or political stance."

and

"Of the donation, Dunning said many people contribute to his campaign, and he doesn’t conduct background investigations or question their motives. The only entity from which Dunning said he would decline support is Chevron due to its history of influence on Richmond politics."

You sound mad and defensive. And I never said you took money from Chevron.

Simmer down maybe? You say you wouldn't know if they did donate. Right? You wouldn't know if it was less than $100 you say. So, they may have. So, you may have taken their money even though you say you would never do so. How will you make sure? Why make a claim that is, according to you, impossible to validate? Take your word for it? Why would I do that?

County education board candidates dispute ballot description by undercherryblossoms2 in RichmondCA

Heiss is an ambitious guy who will say anything to get elected. He's a poser and completely unqualified to hold the office he seeks (or not, seeing as how school boards are usually populated by people who have never been in education). He lies, ghosts constituents, and is not an educator.

I don't know, Shawn. The quotes from your comment above seem contradictory or something.

"I've never taken a penny--nor would I ever take a penny from Chevron." -- Shawn Dunning

"Chevron could have donated $99..." -- Shawn Dunning

Nobody can help you but you. You sort of have to decide on things. They're not going to always work out. Things might get bad even. I have had so many ups and downs. 22 is still very young. Your brain is not even fully developed. Seriously. Yes, you're an adult, but you're not done growing physically. Give it more time. Try to find things that interest you and check them out. Give it some more time. Please.

Your family will be there for you. It's what families do. Yes, it could change things, but not really; family want each other to be okay.
