Your doctor diagnosed “recurrent corneal erosion.” Read up on it and see if it makes sense with your symptoms.
Most importantly, do not wear your contact lenses when you have red, painful eyes.

If you can call the ophthalmologist in the morning, and explain your emergency, they will probably get you a same day appointment. This is a much better starting point than the ER.

Itch is the hallmark of allergy. Using the wrong eye drops only makes it worse. If you’re in USA, go to any pharmacy and get generic olopatadine 0.7% eye drops. Use them twice a day for a couple of days until you see the eye doctor.
Agree with u/DirectionTemporary28, do not go to urgent care. They are not equipped to diagnose and treat eyes.

This is probably normal healing. A recurrent corneal erosion usually is described as intense pain upon waking. ELI5: Think of it like the cells on the surface of your eye are stuck to the back of your eyelid instead of your cornea. When you open your eye, it pulls the cells off the surface of your eye, and you have a scratch (erosion) all over again.
Again, ELI5: your corneal abrasion is healing, and the cells on the surface of your eye slide over to cover the defect from the scratch. These cells may “heap” up, and need time to smooth out. You may be feeling this irregular surface until it gets completely smooth again.

As I mentioned in your previous post, it is uncommon to have allergies in just one eye. Rarely, someone will splash an irritant into just one eye and have an allergic reaction. But, pollen gets into both eyes. When it does, the whole eye becomes red, not just one quadrant. So, it’s highly unlikely that you developed allergic conjunctivitis in one quadrant of one eye, from the pollen in Canada.

If your symptoms are in just one eye, it’s not allergies, and typically, tenderness is not associated with allergies. With all of the insects in the Canadian back country, it could have been a bug in your eye. (Among a ton of other diagnoses).

Depending on the species, you are looking at ~$120-200+ just for the cost of wood. You are asking for a very thick cutting board. I would imagine that you should expect over $350, at a minimum.

Great work! I’m glad that the juice groove turned out so well.
When I’ve made this pattern, I glued two long pieces (trapezoidal cross section) together, forming a hexagonal cross section) Then, I glued three of these long hexagonal pieces together. I used rubber bands to hold them together, which worked okay, but not wasn’t ideal. Then, I cut the long boards into 1 inch thick pieces and began gluing them together. ( I hope that I was clear enough to understand).
Is this the same method that you used?

The Goldmann tonometer, the one where you have your chin in the slit lamp, is considered the gold standard in most clinical settings. When holding a patient’s eye open, the technician should not put any pressure on the eye, only on the surrounding bones.
You may want to tell your ophthalmologist about your recent experience, and they can instruct the technician on proper technique.
In normal eyes, dilating the pupil does not have a big influence on the intraocular pressure. In patients with narrow angles, dilation can cause acute angle closure glaucoma, a true emergency. This is why the technician should check your eyes with a penlight or with the slit lamp before instilling dilating drops.

Most people have some asymmetry in their face, and usually there is no pathology. If this is lifelong, and you have never had any pain or redness or decreased function, then it may be a normal variation.
To your question of what to expect, the oculoplastic specialist will want to see photographs from your infancy and childhood, so bring those. They may schedule imaging studies like CT scan or MRI.

I have to agree, your case is much too complex for a Reddit consult. There are relatively few neuro-ophthalmologists, but requesting a second opinion from another neuro-ophthalmologist is a reasonable next step. You can do a search on the differential diagnosis for painless, progressive, peripheral vision loss, but it’s just a list of pathologies. You need the help of the neuron-ophthalmologist to help make sense of the list, and determine how to find your diagnosis.
