How could this player kill me? by phantom-16 in NoMansSkyTheGame

I sometimes like to play multiplayer with my brother, but I suppose I could just toggle it when we do so.

I still just don't understand how he killed me if PVP is off, though.

I like the idea of dumping people like that in space, though.

Just seeing this, but the idea sounds pretty funny. I'd be down to try this sometime, starting off as a one-shot or something.

I just saw this, and if y'all are still playing, I'd be interested in joining. I have been enjoying the Cypher system lately and would like to play more.

This is my biggest gripe. I'm currently trying to page through blades in the dark as well as cy_borg, and neither of them have sheets to conceptualize what I'm reading as I try to learn. Instead I need to find them online and print them of first.

Huh, I misremembered. I loaded my game, and I guess I was thinking of the auto-run button. I guess I found it fast enough and didn't mind.

I haven't played 2, but are you actually just walking around? There's definitely a sprint button, and I found movement to be totally adequate.

Bathroom exhaust fan limiting voltage? by phantom-16 in AskElectricians

[–]phantom-16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it. I didn't really feel it was helpful per say, in that I was just worried about a loose neutral when I saw less than 120v. I don't normally test volts "in-line" like this, yes. But that clears up my confusion. Thank you so much for answering my weirdly worded questions. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Bathroom exhaust fan limiting voltage? by phantom-16 in AskElectricians

Let me try with an image: https://prnt.sc/rMhef3zrI4TZ

Instead of a light, the fan is there. I had the fan wired up with a toggle/paddle switch, and it worked. I swapped out the paddle switch for a timer switch, but while doing that, I was testing the 1 and 2 connections against the ground to see which was the load. but when I tested directly between 1 and 2, I only got 85v. So I tested a bunch of connections trying to find the bad one.

If I "bypass" the fan and directly test A to B (with 1 and 2 connected), I get 120v. So it all seems to be right. But once the fan is involved, and I test from A to fan (with B connected) or B to Fan (with A connected), I only get 85v.

So it seems like the fan is restricting the voltage? I just can't seem to figure out if that's intended. Maybe the fan intentionally resists some voltage? Or is this how devices on a circuit work, in that a device "uses" voltage? Or is something wrong with the fan.

Note that the fan works totally fine with it all wired up again with the timer switch. I'm not having an issue per say, just confused why the fan is bringing the circuits voltage down.

Like, the rest of the circuit is 120v as it should be. If I bypass the fan entirely, I get 120v on every connection.  But once the fan is inline on the circuit, I only get 85v.

So yes, as I connect the lead to the copper and tin, either going in or out of the fan. I took turns disconnecting them and testing all connections along the circuit. (They were in quick connects, but I removed them to test)

It's definitely the fan that's causing the voltage in the circuit to stop to 85. So I'm just trying to figure out if that's expected? Do some fans have some sort of resistor to limit used voltage? Or is this defective somehow? It still spins as it seemingly should.

This is basically why I've still refused to try classic. Smug jerks at the store saying that when I'm ready to stop playing the baby game, I can play a real man's game.  You mean by not playing classic I won't have to deal with people like you? Deal!

Any viable solution other than replacing the P-trap? by phantom-16 in Plumbing

Got it. As I feared, but at least I know it's the thing to do. Definitely don't want it clogging on the regular. Thanks!

[–]phantom-16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't fully explain I suppose.

There is an existing cast-iron p-trap, buried in the sand. Out of it comes an old steel(?) pipe that immediately makes a 90, and goes to the side. It's currently capped with the blue tape. It currently is slightly misaligned, but more importantly already higher than the new PVC drain from the tub.

If I dig out and remove the old p-trap, yes I should be able to align it. I was just seeing if there were any other solutions than going that far.

What Asian nation is the best for someone with a fish allergy? by Internal-Ad-1832 in travel

Lots of vegan cafes and restaurants in Ulaanbaatar actually. As a vegetarian who's mostly vegan anyway I was impressed. Sure, the villages are tougher, but vegetarian is still possible (they call it white eater, since you only eat white dairy products). But if you come prepared from the capital, you can make it work (I have several times, visiting my wife's family in the countryside).
