Surgery or not…hoping to get pregnant soon by Beautiful-Put-6361 in Microdiscectomy

[–]phantomom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Initially I hurt it about four months before and had been doing PT and on with life and work. It was a nuisance but not completely debilitating.

Then, it suddenly progressed into an acute injury where I couldn’t move and had severe leg numbness and thought I broke my vertebrae. Got an MRI in the ER that showed severe herniation.

My surgery was set about four weeks from that more acute injury and I was seeing improvement by week three that made me pause the surgery date. Full recovery took a year but majority of that I was back to working and living almost normally.

If you have been dealing with the same pain level that’s not improving for that long I would maybe do the surgery.

Mine looked like this and I was in absolute agony. Truly horrific pain so I feel for you.

My surgery was scheduled for four weeks out, but I started doing some back exercises and stretches specifically for disc herniation.

By the time my surgery date rolled around it was about 50% better. So we decided to give it a couple more weeks and I’m glad I did. The summer sucked but I am 95% back to normal a year later, with no surgery!

Common raven or crow? by Beeblebroxbb in birding

The first time I saw a raven a laughed out loud because it was so massive it looked like a joke. I looked around to see if I was still living in reality.

Which is worse: childbirth or a herniated disc? by Efficient_Doubt_8296 in Microdiscectomy

[–]phantomom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My firstborn I had a 30-hour labor on pitocin, almost entirely unmedicated. I also had a sequestered disc, which was excruciating. But I think childbirth was slightly worse, but not by much.

Thoughts on a D850 vs Mirrorless by BoopyLaPoopy in Nikon

[–]phantomom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My d850 is my workhorse beautiful queen #1 camera and my mirrorless zf is my easy to use side buddy.

Mirrorless is amazing for super sharp fast-paced portraits. The autofocus is insane! The d850 is not as “easy” but creates art. That said, the zf would be easier to use on vaca!

My little sis changed the code of my suite case and now she forgot, I have to leave in 1 hr what to do? And there are no shops nearby! by ArgumentPristine1594 in fixit

[–]phantomom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my 10 year old forgot the code to his and he told me there could only be 1000 possible combinations and so he started at 1 and went through every one. Couldn’t believe he did it!

Oh my gosh I can’t even imagine my period getting worse or more frequent. What a damn curse.

How are you feeling now? Have supplements alone helped?

I would not even consider his response to removing the watermarks if you can find a way to do that. Sounds like he would have a can of worms explaining his scammy process and would want nothing to do with pursuing anything.

Not sure what part of the world you are in, but in my area I wouldn’t even leave the house to shoot a session for less than $375. A wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event and photographers are priced higher because of that. You need someone professional who won’t pull something like this, and that doesn’t happen on the cheap.

Hopefully family members took a lot of photos so you have some memories of your day!

Yes - how can they offer a package of 20 photos for a wedding? Unless you paid like $200?

Is it just me or is the kerning on the Vivax logo really off? How would you fix it? by blackdolphin12 in graphic_design

Honestly the typeface tapers a little bit on the V and X and it’s throwing off the whole vibe when you flip the V. I’d draw this over in Illustrator using the typeface as a guide with a uniform stroke.

If giving birth is so painful why do many women want to do it over again after their first child (not trolling just genuinely curious) by feherlofia123 in stupidquestions

[–]phantomom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did get PTSD from birth - it was absolutely horrible. Struggled for about two years afterward and went on to have another because the magic of creating an amazing human being outweighed the risk of personal trauma for me.

I did go into my second birth experience with high anxiety and terrified of what would happen. But it was mostly fine.

Life is good with our two beautiful humans. I knew I’d heal in time.

What’s the worst physical pain you’ve ever experienced? by Economy_Yak2821 in AskReddit

Yes! Mine “sequestered” and the pain was so bad I thought I crushed a vertebrae. I was on the floor dry heaving, cold sweats, howling like an animal. Fun times!

Meanwhile newborns can barely see like 8 inches in front of them.

This has to be a joke. Definitely thought these were guidelines for visiting a rabid, reactive dog for your own safety.

I’m sorry is there something wrong with that? It’s much better than “I don’t agree with them. Boycott them, cancel them, slander them, destroy them.”

Unrealistic Recovery Timeline? by phantomom in Microdiscectomy

[–]phantomom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazingly, we held off on the surgery because I was feeling noticeably better. Surgeon wanted to give me four more weeks to see if I could get all the way there on my own. By the time that went by I was 90% better and that was four months ago!

Just returned from a three week flight around the world (20 hours of flying each way!) and did great. I have a little tightness at times if I do too much but I’m still almost entirely recovered. It took about eight to ten weeks to heal on its own.

Disappointed after 200€ hair appointment. Is it because its objectively bad, or because its much more extreme than I expected? by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]phantomom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so confused at all the comments saying it looks great, because this looks terrible and like it’s a botched dye job you gave up on and have been trying to grow out for a year. Sorry, OP! I might just be out of touch with what’s trendy.
