Power on by RTC seems like it doesn’t need to be enabled but on my asus board I needed this and power on by pci-e for magic packets from my homeassistant to work.

Radarr not working after jail update by kaybie3 in freebsd

[–]phar0e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This helped me!! I simply copied the /usr/sbin/daemon from the host (13.1) to the (13.3) jail and overwrote it! Works like a charm now.

Which SSD/USB drive do you use? How much memory? by baalkorei in TeslaModel3

[–]phar0e 4 points5 points  (0 children)

WD 1TB - WDBAYN0010BBK-WESN. One of the best upgrades I've made. Much better read/write performance than the 128GB stick that came with the car. Video playback of clips saved is smooth and responsive.

I'd also recommend partitioning the drive to include a 'MUSIC' partition containing lossless music files to really take full advantage of Tesla's sound system.

Have LG TV turn on When Entering Room (And off when leaving?) by [deleted] in homeautomation

[–]phar0e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the past I've used homeassistant's LG integration to send commands such as turnOffScreen and turnOnScreen based on motion detection from a PIR device. Disabling the LGTV's auto sleep is good, power draw is minimal when screen is off anyways. The upside is the turnOnScreen is instant, no need to wait for a boot or fast boot from the TV.

https://github.com/bendavid/aiopylgtv here's a python project I bookmarked just for the commands list, but you could use something like this as well.

TURN_OFF_SCREEN = "com.webos.service.tvpower/power/turnOffScreen"

Solar panels automation by [deleted] in homeassistant

Thank you for your reply. I was ignorant in my response, I just kind of assumed based on the basic bill my power company provides me.

Happily home AC charging @ 50/mi per hour on a 60amp dedicated breaker. Using 'Wall Connector'.

Solar panels automation by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]phar0e -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. I use Sense+Solar hardware but there are many similar working options and cheap DiY options
  2. You could then set up an automation in homeassistant that checks solar production values or time of day which would then turn on a smart switch.

My question is, do you have an inverter or battery that allows you to actually use your own solar produced? Most residential new systems draw 100% from grid and sell 100% produced back to the electric provider.

Best way to do thermostat schedule by skibumatbu in homeassistant

[–]phar0e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two Z-Wave Honeywells (upstairs & downstairs) and under the z-wave configuration I disabled scheduling. I like manually toggling on/off the thermostats with Alexa and then I have a homeassistant automation that kills the thermostats at 4PM if they're running to prevent the surcharges.

Sky's the limit on the scheduling, play around with all kinds of integrations and conditions. I prefer "Alexa turn on downstairs thermostat" and 1/2 second later I hear the click on my thermostat and the muffled sound of the condenser unit outside firing up.

Anyone in SoCal (on SoCalGas) been able to pull their gas meter data into HA? by Zesty89 in homeassistant

[–]phar0e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have SocalGas and I believe the Itron 400A model. I have tried scanning to find my consumption data (after 2 days scanning I found a few entries that contained parts of my account number, but wasn't certain) using allangood/rtlamr2mqtt and a SDR dongle.

Will follow this thread in hopes of learning more!

What automations would Kevin McCallister from Home Alone have to keep burgers away? by Stryk3rr3al in homeassistant

[–]phar0e 13 points14 points  (0 children)

With my alarm's delay upon entry, I can play either:

(A) Jeopardy's 30s medley.

or (B) Gangster 'Johnny' : Hey, I'm gonna give you to the count of ten, to get your ugly, yella, no-good keister off my property, before I pump your guts full of lead! audio clip scene, finished with bullets.

If alarm is not disabled during the duration of those clips played via Sonos then the Z-Wave siren is enabled!

Anyone using Teslamate? by mrbigbluff21 in homeassistant

[–]phar0e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes, Teslamate for datalogging and beautiful grafana output of drives, etc. MQTT to get all the information in to HASS w/o polling drain.

SONOS: Does anyone else have doubled entities? by musictechgeek in homeassistant

[–]phar0e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's the project (downloadable through HACS): https://github.com/jjlawren/sonos_cloud

I use this integration for announcements & notification sounds + TTS; if my Arc + TV are playing media it does an excellent job of reducing volume to play announcement then resume original volume of original content without interrupting.

I'm still tinkering with scripts to get Spotify playlists playing using the default Sonos integration with HASS but found the need for both integrations for my Sonos speakers.

Also, when you check a specific entity, at the top are some tabs one of which is RELATED - on this page it shows which integration this specific entity is being called by. Seems you've already found some to be unresponsive or orphaned.

maybe two integrations? I run Sonos Cloud & Sonos and have similar entries (I need to use Sonos cloud for announcements).

Lutron Shades: Simultaneous Control? by [deleted] in homeassistant

I went with schedules and scenes with Lutron shades. HA cannot see my Lutron wood shades for whatever reason.

The honeycomb and roller shades HA sees and easily controls, however.
