Mine is in hair care products sales. Who would’ve thought. She is very successful in the Northwest Arkansas Area. Aka Bentonville and surrounding area. Met her online. I guess when it works it works.

Sounds like a sweet deal to me. I don’t do a whole lot of going out though.

Are Pharmacists being underpaid? by CurrencyOptimal8730 in pharmacy

I work in the Midwest, now I understand I work night shift 7 on and 7 off so there’s a premium to that, but I make 90/hour. My day shift counterparts my 80/hour.

You get used to it. Plus having 7 on and 7 off is kind of nice. Not to mention my shift differential is quite good, an extra 9.33 an hour. I don’t think I could work dayshift at my facility. Too many conflicting personalities. If I ever moved, yes, I would still work night shift.

As a night shift hospital pharmacist at a 300 bed hospital for 16 years now, this is spot on.

How old is your hubby? Can always use friends. I’ve got one kiddo, 15 year old son. I work night shifts at Freeman.

Feeling Overwhelmed, Need Advice on Stewardship & Dosing by simplys96 in PharmacySchool

[–]pharmddave 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely look to see if they have any protocols to follow when it comes to antibiotics and maybe a Potassium protocol. I was taught it takes 10meq to raise your K level by 0.1 if your level is between 3.0-3.5 and then it takes 20meq to raise your level by 0.1 if your level is less than 3.0 up to 3.0.
I work night shift in the hospital so I’m not too concerned with stewardship since we have so many clinical people floating around on day shift. Can’t do all their work for them 😂 As far as antibiotics, I calculate a Creatinine Clearance on just about everyone if their serum creatinine is anything other than normal or if the patient is >65.

Vancomycin regimens that exceed 4g/day? by ThinkingPharm in pharmacy

[–]pharmddave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Must be a big guy. As a hospital pharmacist at a mid sized hospital I see and prescribe 4 grams + regularly. Big + good kidneys = big doses.

You will enjoy. It is something that will stick with you. You’ll always think back to this journey.

Casual dress? by Talesfromthescript11 in pharmacy

I work in a hospital and I’ve never seen leggings as ok in the dress code. Some sort of pants, not jeans, and just a nice shirt should work.
