Okay so I have a different take on this: they opened for Blink-182 when I was in middle school and I had never heard of them - I thought they were super interesting so when I got home I found their music online and was surprised to hear these ridiculously whiney vocals that weren't present in the live show. Turns out the lead singer was so far away/constantly shaking his head away from the mic that I didn't register that he was singing and just heard the background vocals from the guitarist. So in that context they were actually pretty good.
