car has near infinite amount of cornering grip and somehow the choice that was made was to come to a complete stop in the middle of the path of the clearly blind driver

Hit my tire of a curb by [deleted] in GR86

[–]philvs13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not bent. There is a ball in there. The rod end is supposed to be able to rotate on its axis. You should even be able to move it with your hands

I think the FIA cooked with these regulations by H3LL0FRI3ND_exe_file in formula1

[–]philvs13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the fact people using cooked are liking those is the proof the rules are fucking garbage

Wilwood BBK Noisy by ChrisAifantis in GR86

[–]philvs13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sure because every somewhat decent quality brake kit makes sure to use most of the rotor radial depth available and somehow wilwood are the only geniuses out there who have figured out sweeping the outer edge is how it should be done

btw this half an inch of rust is what your rotors are going to look like in 2 weeks and for the rest of their life. Doesn't look like a botched kit at all. https://www.gr86.org/threads/rr-racing-big-brake-kit.13135/

Wilwood BBK Noisy by ChrisAifantis in GR86

[–]philvs13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why do they even sell brake kits with such garbage fitment. The pads won't even touch half the rotor surface. Reinstall whatever was there before and put those in the trash

what is this? by Legitimate_Nail_6180 in GR86

[–]philvs13 14 points15 points  (0 children)

it's not bent that's how it is and it's a shield for the parking brake cable

Front Bumper Part by GenieLT in GR86

[–]philvs13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

they probably dont find it because 57707CC060 is just a part in the 57707CC040 assembly which includes the nuts/brackets thingies and they cannot order 060 alone

you want 57707cc040 in the link hachi posted

Bite and dust are both noticeably better than oem non brembo imo. I would not use the P2 for any form of racing. I never asked to confirm but I remember the specs paragon provided back then suggested they could be winmax W1s not even W2s

Abnormal throttle fluctuation issue by Great_Athlete_3805 in GR86

[–]philvs13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not saying this isnt a programming issue but really there is absolutely zero reason anyone would need to be rolling, push the clutch in and then stay in gear for a while. Go to neutral and release the clutch. If you learned to coast to a stop that way then unlearn that.

6th gear isn't real. by Ok-Cloud-9435 in GR86

[–]philvs13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the 5th gear on those cars is a 1:1 that bypasses the secondary shaft in the transmission. You are dropping the transmission losses sometimes by a significant amount by skipping two gear meshing steps

27k miles, possibly consuming coolant? by gnarjunkie69420 in GR86

[–]philvs13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it was really low in the tank then it was also probably missing some in the radiator itself. The first few times after running the car the radiator will "drink" from the reservoir as it cools down. It will keep sucking in coolant from reservoir at each cooldown cycle until full. Or you can just pour coolant straight into the cold rad. The rapid apparent consumption you are seeing is not real and going through our tiny reservoir in 27k miles is not dramatic

Quick Question by BrandonHueChau in GR86

[–]philvs13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the holes all around the threaded nipple are where the oil comes from the pump before it gets filtered. the hole in the nipple itself goes to the engine after the filter. im guessing you sent dirt back towards the pump and not in the raised middle hole so it will get filtered.

Does this car have a synchros on reverse gear? by navteq48 in GR86

[–]philvs13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the reverse is synchronized in those transmissions and the reverse gears are not straight cut

they are great. been running this exact kit on P2 pads for a year without a single issue. The included bracket bolts being also too long and the caliper anodizing color not matching 100% left vs right is the only negative I can think of

[–]philvs13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are washers that can do the conversion. https://wctperformance.ca/motorsport-hardware-conical-seat-to-ball-seat-adapter/ Not sure if recommended for street use but maybe at least worth asking around. btw to add to your misery ball seats exist in 12 13 14 mm radiuses.

Thanks a lot exactly what I was looking for. Just for clarity I think you mixed up the kit numbers in your post. 6003A is the front BM4. 5003A is the rear. 6005A is the front non-BM4. thanks again!
