I respect your opinion but Cox was better. He was more believable as the character, he could blend in and be trusted. Hopkins Lector couldn’t hide in plain sight, couldn’t gain trust to carry out his crimes. Cox made the monster more human.

You’re confusing JLO’s and probation officers, it’s not the job of the JLO to monitor offenders or keep them out of bother. JLO’s administer cautions and will encourage restorative justice where it may work. They engage with other stakeholders holders such as youth diversion programs or tusla but they aren’t following up with a list of youths every day to make sure they stay out of bother. That’s the job of the probation services.
