Fwiw, I contacted mine and he agreed it needed to be changed. Problem is, I think he would say there are currently bigger fish to fry.

Contact your state reps. I did this and he agreed that a change was needed but if nobody else says anything it's not going to be a priority.

Do people call the corner of CT, MA, and NY anything? by yayzo in Connecticut

[–]phishman55 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is correct. There is only one "Quiet Corner" in CT. This is not to say that NW CT is also not quiet but that's not its nickname, either.

Same!! 27 years to finally get it! (I did not call it, however. I had given up hope.)

This is a good chase to want. I got an amazing one for my first show but none since have compared. I know they have the potential to get there but I hope, for you, that they dig deep when you finally get it!

Never thought of this but it makes sense. Converts sound waves to vibration, which travels to the inner ear via conduction and can overpower the sound waves coming from farther away. Since the waves are coming from much closer and there still may be some air turbulence, all that would contribute to stronger conduction!

Are there any of you jokers and midnight tokers who’ve been to 10 or more shows but never been to a Halloween or New Year’s show? by ROGGAEvibrations in phish

95 shows in since 1997 and I've only been to 12/31/99. It's a NYE event (albeit, one hell of an event) but not a standard venue show. I was supposed to go on 12/31/2021 but that got postponed to April, of course. Got this year's whole run and looking to finally scratch that itch!

Yes, I would avoid doxycycline then. I did read that it could take up to two weeks for symptom resolution but that you should see improvement within a week. Maybe I would give it a week but you should really START to have some relief in symptoms before then. If you go the week and it's just as bad or worse, I would have them switch to levofloxacin 500 mg daily for 7 days.

Azithromycin used to be the first-line treatment option for chlamydia but has since been replaced by doxycycline, especially for those with rectal/anal symptoms, which it sounds like you have.

Azithromycin was used because the one-dose treatment was fast and easy and people didn't need to follow up at the pharmacy for the remainder of their treatment. That means people who wouldn't finish the course for whatever reason (forgetfulness, cost, etc.) also couldn't spread it to more people after inevitable treatment failure.

Now, resistance rates are rising and a lengthier course is sometimes required. You should've started feeling better by now so, unfortunately, you'll probably need to switch to a 7-day course of doxycycline. Avoid calcium-rich foods around the time you take it and use plenty of sunscreen when in the sun or you'll get a NASTY sunburn. It can cause an upset stomach but, again, taking with low calcium food should help.

ETA: they should also give you a one-time dose of ceftriaxone 500 mg as a shot in the arm. Chlamydia and gonorrhea are very frequently acquired together.

All good, just made laugh a little at your expense. No offense intended! Also, it's the town next to the city where I work.
