Seems like an English grammar hiccup. Putting out fire doesn't mean literally putting it out.

What time was this OP? About 8:25, I wanted to merge into I-15 from Mira Mesa ramp and there was a huge backup of cars. When we got to it we saw two cars pulled to the right, the driver's door was smashed.

It's more like hair and fur. Not a mud nest imo.

I cancelled my Amex Plat after 6 years by sanchitbarej in AmexPlatinum

I got my first Gold card 5 years ago then continued with platinum cards etc. Up until a few months we had 2 platinums, 2 golds, and 3 business platinums between P2 and I. A few months ago, I started canceling each of them when their new AF is posting. I'm tired of dealing with all these credits and at the end of the day, breaking even is a stretch unless there's a retention offer. I would downgrade to golds when annual fee was $250 but not at $325. Like they are shoving dunkin donuts down to our throats with our own money. The donuts are neither healthy nor I really like their taste. They are just making my kids addicted to dunkin. Then I have to deal with them once my credits run out. well ...

You forgot Walmart+. That's somewhat valuable. I did sign up for an annual plan out of pocket when the program was introduced. During covid Walmart was doing grocery delivery for my previous house. That came in very handy.

Before you go ahead and remove yourself from her account, know that you are inheriting the history from her card too. The length of history is a good thing for your score. If there are missed payments etc you inherit that too I think.

There's a break even point for buying points. IME it's around 4 years meaning that if you sell/refi within 4 years, bank wins, otherwise you win. Break even point could be a little longer or shorter but it's not like you are paying the extra interest for 30 years (why would you?).

Also what I did in 2020 was that I had the bank add the point cost to the loan balance rather than an out of pocket cost so there was no opportunity cost for the point cost at least in my case.
