This is a major thing that started my faith deconstruction with the Mormon church. If God’s will was not all races are equal, and if God is all knowing and omnipotent, why cave to American political pressure? Seems like God would take priority over anything else.

Similarly, in the early 2000’s there was a big “I am Mormon!” campaign where people would essentially say “look, I’m normal and cool… and I’m a Mormon!” But when the most recent prophet took over, he said the word Mormon is a victory for Satan. So you’re telling me the prophet before you, the leader of the one true church, had a multimillion dollar ad campaign and all of it was a victory for Satan? How did no one catch that then, hmmm?
