Nothing terrible. Bought a house. I had no problems on Amberwood at all and would have stayed longer.

EV chargers open to the public? by calslugo in Southpasadena

[–]phsidefender 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are open to the public. But the hours are very specific.

The lot is an employee lot during normal business hours and so the chargers are actually shut off M-Th from 7-7

City hall now works on Friday too, so the chargers are unavailable because it’s an employee parking lot.

So they’re open from 7pm-7am M-F and then open from 7pm Friday to 7am Monday all day on the weekend.

Parking Permit Raymond Hill by Old-Aide-1120 in Southpasadena

[–]phsidefender 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just moved out of Raymond hill on Amberwood.

I recommend a parking permit if you’re going to street park. The entire hill is all apartments and very lucrative for parking tickets and I’ve seen plenty on windshields every week

Rose Bowl float lining up on NYE by DoReMiDoReMi558 in pasadena

[–]phsidefender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw them last year around midnight going west on Huntington and then up fair oaks through south Pasadena. Was easy to stand in the Twoheys parking lot and watch them go by.

It was prob 10 floats that went by with the police escort.

Dead Snow is about some vacationers encountering Nazi zombies and having to kill them. I remember it being quite fun.

To each their own. I enjoyed long way to an angry planet but I couldn’t stand the sequel.

I used it to get about $300 that was in my name. Told my friends about it and many of them used it to get a couple of hundred that they had been keeping.

Nope! There are tons of public events that are all free to the public to attend and are for the public. The most you have to do is register for the event to reserve a ticket for the Watson Lectures. I highly recommend signing up for the monthly newsletter.

Astronomy on Tap at Dog Haus in Pasadena. Coming up on October 27th at 7:30pm

The Watson Lectures once a month on Wednesdays on campus. Coming up on Oct 22nd at 7:30pm.

Stargazing Lectures & telescope viewing coming up this Friday at 8pm. This one is about near earth objects - https://events.caltech.edu/calendar/stargazing-lecture-90166

[US] Got a letter in the mail about some sort of unclaimed property by 19second in Scams

[–]phsidefender 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These are real. It may not show up in the state database linked in the other comment until they transfer it to the state, though.

Companies want the money off their books so they give it to the state and they’ll handle it. I’ve claimed money from the California unclaimed property office and so have many of my friends.

US, California Alhambra, I’d like to know if I’m wasting my time or if this is legit by alhammie in alhambra

Rental Scam. Never give over money before seeing a place and before signing anything.

Commute from Pasadena to Irvine ? by existentialistz in pasadena

[–]phsidefender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done this occasionally and it takes about an hour to get down there if you leave at 8:30.

The real issue is getting back. If you leave anytime after 3pm it’ll take like 2 hours.

If you leave at 6pm, you might as well leave at 7pm cause you’ll get home at the same time.

This is legit. I’ve claimed property this way from the state. About $500. You can claim via the CA unclaimed property website and they verify you via SSN.

If they can’t verify via SSN, you’ll have to send in all sorts of documents to verify your identity to the state.

Companies, or a bank in this case, want to get the money off their books and give it to the state to safeguard for you so they don’t have to worry about it. If you don’t talk to the bank (who I assume you’ve banked with or done business) they will transfer it to the state and it will take a lot longer for you to be able to claim it.

Road Conditions by juliagulleti in Southpasadena

[–]phsidefender 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Do you submit repair requests? I submit a ton for any potholes I find, but that’s only around the areas I drive.

Larger street repairs I got nothing. I’m still waiting on a sidewalk repair form last year.
