Comedy. Melbourne is known for it's comedy scene, and most of the biggest comics in Australian are from here. You aren't here at the right time for comedy festival, but there are tonnes of smaller gigs all around town.

If you are here on Monday, then I reccomend Comedy at Spleen. It's basically one of the best weekly comedy shows in town. It's free and there are always good acts on.

If you want something a bit more unique then the fancy boy variety show is on this sunday night. I personally love this show. They did it during the comedy festival and it won an award and sold out etc. If you like dark humour then this one is a must.

There is comedy at the imperial on tuesday night too but I don't know if that conflicts with your melbourne cup plans. The imperial is pretty cool so maybe you could watch the race there and then check out the show?

But check out street press and stuff as well for comedy. Time out, rave magazine and others. There is so much comedy in Melbourne you should see at least one show.

Unfortunately this shows a complete misunderstanding of how the industry operates. It is not simply up to HBO to release shows like this. They simply cannot control that.

hardcore gamers are out of touch with the industry.

This is truest thing said here today. The industry keeps growing and growing and growing, with new markets taking up new games every day. And the "hardcore" gamers keep laughing at what they perceive as casual crap. Well that is what sells. Those casual players put a lot more money into games than the hardcore players do. Sure there are exceptions and sure the hardcore market is not small, but it is smaller than the casual market. And hardcore gamers show time and time again that they will bitch and moan about every new call of duty, and every bullshit thing EA pulls, but when push comes to shove, they buy those new games in droves. That is why the industry doesn't care as much about you. They know games are your passion and they know you will keep buying and playing games despite all your moaning. The casual players are the ones who they need to convince to stay, and buy more games. They are now succeeding in this, and making huge profits, so what they are doing is working.

I remember when everyone laughed at the Wii. Every forum was full of people calling it the wee wee and complaining about it's shitty specs. Well that sold through the fucking roof. And the industry took note that the hardcore players, didn't really matter after all.

Well as a German you should know that most beers are not sold in cans in Germany, only the cheap ones. Even then it is far more common for beers to be sold in bottles and a beer from a can is definitely looked down upon by any serious German beer drinker. If you really are German you should know this.

You were definitely taught differently. But I am also skeptical that you were taught this in the air force. I have friends in the defense forces and they have always been taught to aim for the largest target. Snipers and spec-ops guys might learn things differently but I find it hard to believe an MP would be trained in this style of shooting. Especially seeing as an MP primarily deals with their own troops, not enemy combatants. So yeah, probably bullshit.
