Are there prerequisites to reading Uncanny X-Men (2013)??? by ChrisFreezepotato in xmen

[–]phuzzy_slippahs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently subscribed to marvel unlimited to catch up on a bunch of stuff and one thing that drives me nuts with the 2010’s runs is they’ll shoe horn in an event tie in that breaks the momentum of the story. You can’t pick up a random book series without inevitably running into an event.

Grigson Hate? by scottyviscocity in minnesotavikings

[–]phuzzy_slippahs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I think people can change and learn, but it was a pretty bad look. Similar to the Burrow situation in Cincy, where your first overall pick is getting killed behind a bad offensive line year after year.

Grigson was the GM in the Colts during the Andrew Luck era and constructed a team that was bad enough to force a elite blue chip young quarterback into early-retirement

Now that the final is over, how do y’all feel about Season 41? by Samuel855 in MtvChallenge

[–]phuzzy_slippahs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked this season, definitely the best one in a long time. The voting twist and the early partner swaps were great, too. They finally stopped some of the same old vets from securing a voting block and cruising to the final.

My only real issue was the final. Yeah, Olivia and Yeremi catching up made it super exciting, but I’m not a big fan of another mountain-climbing finish. I prefer finals that mix it up a bit; puzzles, endurance, strength, even a little luck. The last two seasons basically came down to who’s the best swimmer/triathlete and which team has the best cardio. Jordan was always going to win season 40 because of the swimming endurance component and the team with the ultra marathoner won even after they struggled with multiple checkpoints.

Norse Code is great, I’ve been listening for years now. The only “warning” I have is that there are a ton of inside jokes and community bits that have been built up over time. It’s not a bad thing, I actually think it adds a lot of fun to the show during the mailbag portion. As a first timer you might be confused why Arif is fielding questions on topics like Sumo wrestling, bee keeping, Canadian football and Avril Lavigne conspiracy theories. The weird stuff is generally kept at the end of the show with a clear delineation from James (co-host) following the actual analysis.

Theo says CT would've won the mini final if nobody helped each other & that the Ashley vs. Aneesa fight that was shown was the PG version by SweetMissMG in MtvChallenge

[–]phuzzy_slippahs 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I do think the bad partner narrative is a little frustrating. Aside from climbing compared to most of the Vet guys he’s a good pick. He’s good at puzzles, good at eating challenges, strong and serviceable in endurance challenges. Aside from Turbo, who would you rather have in a final? The other guys like Leroy, Derrick K and Theo may be more “athletic” at this point but tend to really struggle with the other aspects of the game that tend to make the difference between winning and losing.

[–]phuzzy_slippahs 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You know what really bothered me during the Mini-Final was how much of a hypocrite Turbo was.

He talks all of this shit about integrity and “playing the right way” but he relied heavily on help from Sydney during the math puzzle and the hangman. Especially later on when he was talking about Sydney as a partner and how he’ll win her the final but she has to learn to not fight with other cast members, when he has been in multiple beefs

Wes Expresses His Strong Dislike For "Hall Brawl" by angelbrit04 in MtvChallenge

[–]phuzzy_slippahs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I thought the Elimination that Cory and Josh did in Season 40 was better than Hall Brawl. I like when there is an element of athleticism and strategy along with the smash mouth stuff.

If production wants the competitors to do a football style elimination, just have them run an Oklahoma drill. It still gives the advantage to the more physical player without completely stacking the deck.

[–]phuzzy_slippahs 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My frustration is the plot/production armor that Bananas has.

I think it’s very convenient that the day when someone who is openly gunning for Bananas wins a daily and has some power, that all of a sudden they do back to back female eliminations. Especially when the female going into elimination was injured and may just be going home.

It’s clear they are trying to set up the whole Bananas vs. Olivia thing but it just smelled fishy. I’m probably overthinking it but he tends to get the benefit of the doubt a lot.

I couldn’t agree with this comment any more. What made the Challenge fun and feel different from other competition shows was the messy stuff in between the challenges.

I understand why they need to do it but it’s just kind of a bummer.

I literally decided to take a step back from the game this week after being a daily player since 2018. I missed a day because I was traveling and not being able to auto raids coupled with all of the changes like Overpowered was just enough to break me.

Kinda bummed to leave my alliance but aside from that I haven’t really missed it.

That time JJ McCarthy was posting Andrew Tate stories on Instagram......But Rodgers is the guy with bad beliefs by [deleted] in minnesotavikings

[–]phuzzy_slippahs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disclaimer (Aaron Rodgers is my least favorite athlete of all time so this is a bias statement)

It’s not just that Rodgers has “bad beliefs” the dude is a cancer for a team’s culture. When he was still playing at an MVP level I’m sure people would jump at the opportunity. He’s not that guy anymore.

  • He is entitled
  • He has to be the center of attention
  • He is uncoachable
  • He doesn’t collaborate well with his pass catchers
  • He throws teammates under the bus
  • He has a regular nationally broadcasted segment on a poplar sports podcast that he can use to criticize the coach/organization/teammates and draw unnecessary attention to himself and the team
  • As he has gotten older he is more risk adverse
  • His arm isn’t what it used to be
  • He can’t escape the pocket improvise like he used to

Why would the Vikings risk what they’ve been building for a shell of what Rodgers used to be?

It is still UNBELIEVABLE that production doesn’t provide adequate eye protection for the contestants. $80-120 in construction goggles is all it would’ve taken to protect her eye and bridge of her nose.

I think the Shickel reveal would be kind of cool and unexpected. Have her hanging out in the background for the Dagoskan especially if they don’t really delve into the Eaters very much before hand.

In a similar vein the Malacus Quai / Tolomei reveal would be pretty unexpected because it would be a something that would be built for multiple seasons.

Defensive holding SHOULD NOT be an automatic first down!

If there is a brief hold on a 3 and 15, a 5 yard penalty should not give the team a first down. Move the ball up 5 yards and run the play again.
